not really, im worried about the possibility of proprietary SSD inside the PS5... i was ready to splurge in a 4TB SSD lol
PlayStation is very powerful brand. So yeah that might happen. I worked at Best Buy for many years and in gaming as well. I always told customers which one is more powerful and asked questions about what they were looking for or their kids.Or consumers just find all these different SKU's extremely confusing and they just simply choose the PS5 because it's closest to what Series X is.
That is the trump card that Xbox can play when it comes to price.
Hypothetically speaking...
Xbox announced Xbox Series X price to be $499.99
Sony announces that PS5 is $399.99
Xbox announces then that Xbox Series S is $399.99 as well
Plus you never know, they might have another version Xbox Series C to be $299.99 (Fully Digital/Cloud based system)
Because Xbox have different SKUs from the get go (From what it looks like), they can counter back.

Xbox Series S will be closer to PS5 - If Series S exists.
Series X is definitely going to be more pricier. Just like Xbox One X is more pricier than PS4 Pro
Sony is always reactionary. Always waiting for MS to do say something first so Sony can react to make it seem "yeah, see, we listen and we're here for the gamers!" Far from it.
Nope, as I've pre-ordered both next gen consoles and the price and other details will be updated before launch. And I'll have 7 days from launch to actual make purchase decision.
Sony's post didn't say that to me. The way I read it was that because they have competition they can't at the moment say what the price point of the PS5 will be, as their competition could take advantage of that knowledge.
They can def do what you are saying but because it is a new GEN console and they are already doing this "Series" thing because they have a plan for different SKUS, so they won't want to push an old Xbox One S - Although for the first 2 years they will as 1st party games are upward compatible as well. That's not a trump card at all. Lockhart needs to be much more competitively priced if it's going to be around 4 tflops, especially if PS5 ends up being $399 like you suggest. And an extra $100 for a disc drive ain't gonna do them any favors, and if someone wants a cloud console then you can pick up an XB1S for peanuts
What? No, if Xbox Series S exists, it is Lockhart which is rumored around 4 tflops. That wont be anywhere near PS5

$499.99
$399.99 - Counters PS5
$299.99 Entry level.
These are mock-ups of course but I wouldn't be surprised if Xbox does something similar.
Everybody seems to think Ps5 will be $499That is the trump card that Xbox can play when it comes to price.

Yeah Lockhart does exist but not sure what they are going to call it. That is what I meant. ButThat's not a trump card at all. It is just mock-ups and we playing the hypothetical game. But a brand new console that is $299... some gamers might go for it.
If that is the case - or if that will be the case - Xbox Series X will be $599.99 .... :(
Did Xbox One have comparable sale figures to PS4 in the launch window? I was going off of new gen consoles usually selling out no matter what due to demand. (googles it)Why do you assume Xbox won't meet demand? I don't believe there ever were shortages of the X1. I do remember empty PS4 racks with big stacks of X1's next to them.
For the PlayStation 4, most stores received anywhere from 30 to 50 units. At every store we called back, they had sold out of all of their units within one to two hours of the store openings. Furthermore, checking back yesterday, all the stores had sold out of inventory they received since the launch as well.
For the Xbox One, we learned that most stores only received about 10 to 20 units. When we called to check sales at 5:00 p.m., only 40% of stores reported they sold out. The remaining stores still had inventory, and several told us they were sure they would have some this weekend. The bottom line is that most stores were not concerned about selling out — even with less units.
