So, the external 1TB SDD for the XBOX Series officially costs a whopping $219. That may be a fair price, but it's still enthusiast level pricing IMHO.

For those interested in buying a next gen console: Would you rather buy a 2TB SKU instead, if you had the choice?

I for one would absolutely go with a 2TB PS5 DE, 1TB just seems to be too low given all those 4K assets.

I would, but they aren't going to make consoles with 2TB NVMe SSD just yet. They are already losing a lot of money per unit. I expect mid-gen refreshes to be 2TB.

Wish I could select multiple options as I got both versions of the PS5 and a couple Series X. Either of the three would apply for me.

nah I'm only gonna be playing PS5 exclusives and Apex on my PS5, got a 3080 for everything else so I don't need heaps of PS5 storage.

I don't even know what to do because with GamePass and PSN deals, I already have my 2TB HDDs on my PS4 and X1X full. What the fuck am I going to do next gen...I'm gonna fill shit up quick lol

The expansion drive isn't a value purchase, its a convenience feature. If you want a cheap storage solution, grab a USB external storage to archive the games you're not actively using.

US$100 is a good deal for 1TB of this type of storage, but nah, still too rich for my blood.

Will probably be just fine with a cold storage drive which will cost half that.

Nah, but I think I'm just gonna have to get use to not having all my games installed at once. Complete it then uninstall it going forward I think.

$100 for an extra 1 TB? Absolutely. How come your poll only lets you pick one system when people are picking up both?

I delete games when I am done playing them, so I have no need for more than 1tb anyway. Honestly, could probably manage fine just with the 500gb version so... probably not.

The target audience for this console is not someone who's going to be worried so much about this at launch. But it's nice for them to have the expansion option later on.

Nah, prices are gonna go down for SSDs, I'll just buy an expansion if and when I need it.
I'm fine with deleting games I no longer play and redownloading them, I've got fiber internet, without any data caps.

I don't really play too many games at once and I also have pretty ok internet, so 1TB is enough for me.

$200 for 2.4GB/s while the Samsung 980 pro has 7GB/s and costs the same? Naaah not worth it at all.

I have a 4TB external drive currently. If I'm not satisfied with the speed/time frame of transferring next gen only games from external to internal vice versa , I'll just buy an external SSD for way cheaper than a $200+ memory card, and be absolutely fine with transferring games through Two SSDs instead of one...

I'd go for a 2TB version of either console, but realistically I'd probably never fill it. I tend to only keep a handful of games permanently installed, and delete others as I'm done with them.

No, I much rather use a 4TB external HDD as cold storage and move whatever I want to play to the internal storage. That's what I've been doing on my PS4: small SSD, large external HDD.

I'd 100% pay ÂŁ80-100 more for an extra TB in the XSX. I'm going to buy a fairly heft 6-8TB Hard Drive over Black Friday and then just transfer the games I want to play to the SSD. It's not perfect, but I do mostly move from one single player game to the next, with only a few things such as FIFA, No Man's Sky and Sea of Thieves being left on there permanently.

I would 100% go with a larger internal drive. 1TB is nothing it will be filled extremely fast for me.

I might be some exception to this but I've never ever run into issues with HD space. I mostly stick to one or two games at a time and my connection speed is good enough to just download something when I plan to play it. I cannot see how the 1TB drive will hinder me, unless game sizes will increase tenfold the coming generation.

Yeah probably. For that price with these speeds I'd be good for a long time. I manage my 1TB anyway pretty well.

1TB will be enough for the time being. If I need more I'll put in the 200$ in the next year or two.

No question I would have paid more for a 2 tb disc version of the PS5. Was hoping that would be a thing initially. Even at 650/700.

Nope. Big ass cold storage. I tend to always have multiple games that I play regularly but I'm just going to shuffle shit around. Can't be more than 10 minutes, right? I can live with that.

Planning to shuffle games on and off the internal PS5 ssd with an external 500gb ssd I have lying around. Should be fine to start with until a better solution comes along.

Nah, 1TB internal is fine. I have a 6tb drive to store my games so it won't be a hurdle to manage them.

In the years to come, when the expansion cards are bigger and cheaper I'll just get one

The included storage is way more than enough for me as i only play 1 or 2 games at a time, ill just leave everything else uninstalled until im finished and moved on to something next.

2TB Series X at $599 would have been perfect for me but not sure MS could realistically hit that price and obviously there's the little '599 US DOLLARS' problem.
