Will Pokémon #1000 be a big deal?

The Pokédex is currently sitting at 898 Pokémon in total, with the last being Calyrex.

It's unlikely that the next gen will bring us to 1000, unless they go all-in like Gen V, but it seems likely that we'll get there in the next 5 years.

So, once we hit that landmark number, do you think The Pokémon Company will make a big deal of it? It's worth noting that they haven't made a show of any of the other landmark numbers (#500 is Emboar of all things), but 1000 is kinda on another level IMO.

Answer in the poll and maybe speculate what the Pokémon COULD be, if they do make a big deal of it.

There should be at least a few more singular pokemon for gen VIII.

I mean, they don't need to go all out for us to reach 1000 next gen, they just need to add a similar amount to Gen II/IV. But we all know they won't do that ever again.

And I think it'll be a whatever Pokémon. Probably like the middle stage evolution of the regional worm or whatever.
