I guess what I mean is outside of ethnics they already. Like them trying to do a Muslim character.
I forget what her name is but there's already that black (light-skinned) Luchadora lady who premiered in DOA3 and has been in all the DOAX games. Supposedly she's a scientist.
The best I can expect now is that at some point they might start including the male characters from the fighting games in some attempt to get the otome game audience, to round out the full otaku saturation.
I've always wanted more Muslim representation in games, but uh, I'm not entirely sure DOA is the place I'd want to see it in.

Yeah, what I'm thinking of is the worst case scenario where developers are looking to bring in more ethnic groups but doing it that still panders to the male gaze audience.

Yeah, I was just talking about how certain characters are made to be innocent and pure and this one went straight to what certain audience want to do with said character.

Why is it that Japanese culture, specifically anime, seems to have such a massive problem with misogyny in so many forms? I recently watched a Pop Culture Detective episode that mentions it and it makes you realize how creepy so much anime stuff is.
I honestly think that's the biggest reason I don't like anime much.

I haven't participated in either of the previous threads and don't think I'll have much to add to it personally but just wanted to note that it's literally burning my soul right now that I know exactly where the thread title came from, at least recently. Literally as a straight man want to just curl in a ball of shame and embarrassment. Fucking ow that hurts.

Ridiculous amounts of concern trolling, thread whining, whataboutism, and just general complaining about feminist discourse. I'd say the first 50 or so pages went on like that before numerous bans established that that shit won't fly here.
The first OT was created right after the founding of Era when the floodgates were open and you had a lot of people coming in with not so progressive views. Thankfully nowadays those kinds of people have either been banned or understand that they're not welcome here.
