I live in California and see, pretty much daily, republicans try to shit talk on facebook posts or elsewhere saying they are leaving and other like minded people are leaving "IN EXODUS" of democrat ran states. Is this some sort of gotcha? Its like, why are they threatening me with a good time? Please leave faster, ill help them pack to get out sooner.

Just saw this on facebook and all the comments were filled with republicans saying they are leaving the state(mostly for politics). Am im just over here like

This conservative Facebook group is helping drive a Calif. exodus

Throughout everything, the page's founder has held steadfast to one belief: California is dying a slow, inevitable death.

Texas
Beto O'Rourke would be the Dem senator from Texas if not for conservative transplants.

So a bit of a gotcha there.

In Colorado, some of our shithole Republican counties want to split off and join Wyoming. Please don't leave a purple state and join a deep red state, oh no.

Is it true tho? Are Republicans leaving Cali in higher numbers than dems? I sure hope it's not the case because otherwise my entire area is about to become much shittier as more Californians clog up the streets lol

Lots of people are leaving California-it's not just because of party affliiation. They just want to feel important because they have very little power in their real, mundane lives.

Working for Lyft here in Phoenix, more than a few times I had people from California basically bragging about how they moved out of California because the libs have ruined the state and they are so happy now that they are out of a liberal run state. They were so certain Trump and Republicans were going to win big in Arizona in 2020.

I really wish I could have seen their faces on election night.

The funniest thing is when they move from "liberal" states they immediately go to the most liberal cities of whatever state they go to.

Same here. Just fucking leave already. Comment threads on sites like the LAist are just full of these losers who apparently don't even live here and comment the most.

And most entertainment
Most anything that isn't cornfields. They hate liberals and everything they stand for, but don't stop to realize that without them and what they provide, they'd actually have pretty much nothing. Whatever state they lived in would likely shrivel to poverty without liberal run cities.

Most Ironic one of them all was hearing Ben Shapiro talk shit about Cali then moves to fucking Nashville...

Joe Rogan moved to Texas and I'm pretty sure he didn't go to a rural area.

CA could have literal millions move and probably be better off for it.

So, those types can leave as much as they want with no problem. The sooner the better.

But, guaranteed, as soon as California becomes affordable again, any population loss to other states would reverse.

It's both impotence and probably borne out of a nation of rural areas that have been decimated by brain drain.

I'm not really sure how I feel about this mass exodus of conservatives leaving blue states. Somehow I know their politicians are only going to get crazier.

But I suppose that's going to happen anyway. And they are raising their kids in cities. Not like cities tend to be liberal or anything....

Republicans are under the absolute delusion that they're the ones responsible for everything good around them, instead of destructive monsters whom we are constantly holding at bay.

There's this unironic view among Republicans that Blue States are impoverished, backwater, communist hellholes that have the economic prowess of North Korea and Airstrip One

Best places to live in the US & Puerto Rico, Research the best cities in the USA

Find a compreshensive list of the best places to live in the US and Puerto Rico. Research tools to help find the best cities in the USA.
Look at that. Every single state listed is run by those Dirty Reds, proving the Democrats have led us all astray. Allowing Marxism-Obamunism to flourish in America was a mistake.

One of my high school friends did that. She became a born-again Christian, and moved to Scottsdale, AZ. She's not a huge Trump person, but she's commented many times about how California is too liberal on social media.

I think there's probably more people leaving California for places like Texas because of cost of living rather than political reasons. If anything I think it will end up being even more liberal in Texas because of all the people leaving California for a more affordable lifestyle in Texas.

Texas may not be their favorite choice at first glance but it's a fast growing state with good job opportunities, low taxes and affordable housing if you're willing to live outside of the big money areas.

I personally have two different friends that moved from Michigan to Texas for healthcare jobs, both of them are liberals.

Just idiots that are tired of being the idiots in their local area, so they decide to move to states with even more idiots so that they don't feel so oppressed. Ultimate snowflakes.

The likely implication in saying "they are leaving and other like minded people are leaving" is that you'll be left surrounded by poor people, black/brown people, immigrants, and "socialists". Which to them would be the worst possible thing ever. Which is why they think they are making some sort of threat or warning, and believing that you'd miss them when they are gone.

A large part of it honestly revolves around taxes, and the cost of living.

Living in San Francisco, or New York for example, or even Chicago, is far, far, far more costly than say, living in a decently populated town like some that exist outside of Madison Wisconsin, as an example.

A lot of it revolves around ease of pursuing a dream, getting out to the country and away from the smog, pollution, etc, and the insane tax rates some cities have. Like Schaumburg, Illinois, for an example on their sales tax being absofrigginlutely insane.

They're opinions aren't in a vacuum. However, conservatives and democrats in power don't want to mention the real reason why people are fleeing blue states.

It's because they aren't progressive enough. The material conditions for survival are outrageous in a lot blue cities because they're run by neoliberals. The working class can't afford to live in blue states because of local and federal policy.

For all the woke virtue signaling the Democratic party has done, the material conditions of workers hasn't improved. If Dems want to maintain their majority they need to meet their needs on an economic basis. We saw how disaffected minorities went to Trump in 2020 when they shouldn't have.

If Democratic politics continue to woke signal while being neoliberal capitalists then you can expect the working class to move where they can survive and resent the Dems. Especially minorities that already hold conservative views on family and gender/sexuality issues.

The ball is in the Dems court, they can do Reagan bullshit and lose, or they can actually be progressive and improve society.

Yeah these people aren't moving to the sticks, they are moving to the liberal cities, driving up your housing costs and taking your jobs. So enjoy.

Can Colorado even be considered purple at this point? Biden won it by 13.5 points.
I consider it pretty purple. I live in the Denver area and I was seeing a lot of trump flags before the election. I still see a lot of thin blue line/ don't tread on me crap around here too. Gun laws are pretty lenient as well. It's definitely not a swing state, but there are a lot of right wing folks around.

The public argument, such as it is, is that people leaving D-controlled states to move to R-controlled states is proof that people don't like the actual outcomes of D policies.
