However after VIIR I'd also put up the Tifa/Aerith as a great duo.
Max and Chloe (Life Is Strange)

I haven't finished Part 2 yet. It's just too scary for me lol. Way scarier than the first game.
Edit: Shit I forgot about the partners in time Chloe and Max. Idk I can't choose so I say it's a tie for me.

A really left-field suggestion, but one I have a major soft spot for:
I love the Ritman/Drummond isometric platformers, and arguably Head over Heels is the best of them - although I suspect many people here will have Monster Max on the Game Boy as the one of theirs they're most familiar with.
