The rest of the cast never had a chance. Even Jill, who is the next best still isn't Leon.
Claire would be my third favorite. Almost tied with Jill for me I think too.

Leon is just not that great of a horror protagonist, post RE2. I don't feel a single ounce of fear playing as him, it feels like any second Milla Jovovich could burst into the frame dual weilding smgs. Jill or Claire easily.
Her character and iconic designs in Remake and RE3 make her my choice.
RE3R will be better than RE2R for me for MILES... and I love RE2R to death.
It's hard to not love Leon. He is as pure heart as you can be. Naive but at the same time skillful and ready to help.
I hope they make Jill interesting in RE3make, she's the only one of the main four that I don't really care about. She's just kind of there.

I'm a casual RE fan, certainly not hardcore, but my vote goes to Sheva. I've always wanted to see her return and she's wasted on RE 5 alone.
I voted Leon. I'm actually quite fond of the majority of the cast, if I had to pick a second favorite it would be hard.

Claire Redfield easily! Jill is over rated. Claire was my role model as a child.
Plus I don't see Jill dealing with the most evil/powerful Resident Evil enemy in the series! :P
