White House tells hospitals to bypass CDC on COVID-19 data reporting

Hospitals will begin sending coronavirus-related information directly to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), not the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), under new instructions from the Trump administration.

Beginning Wednesday, hospitals will report the same data but will bypass the CDC and send it to HHS directly.

According to HHS, the goal is to streamline data collection, which will be used to inform decisions at the federal level such as allocation of supplies, treatments and other resources.

But the move comes amid concerns that the White House has been sidelining the CDC and after Trump administration officials attacked Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert and a member of the White House coronavirus task force.

Here it is, the WH has found a cure for the pandemic.

It wont work because acting like nothing's wrong only ends up in hospitals being flooded with patients, and nobody can hide that.

I was just going to post this exact thing. Trump is idiotic enough to think that he can lie this away and he can't because there are tangible consequences it's not just a number on a page. Hospitals will collapse and that will be news.

Lying about a deadly virus so that you can pack stadiums for your re-election campaign, what a fucking lunatic.

"I wonder why all these frozen trucks full of dead bodies are still around?"

Absolute fucking Muppets. Just making it harder to control.

That salon article was on point. Going to be up to individual states to do the little piecemeal that they can for as much damage control as possible but will still be bad

This seems like...unbelievably important for the public to be aware of. Needs to gain far far more traction.

From what I'm understanding this allows the numbers to be directly controlled on a federal level. The only reason why they'd really want to do this is to fuck with the numbers.

tl;dr : This seems like the beginning of a blatant cover up scheme that is poised to potentially cause catastrophic damage to people across America unknowingly due to falsified data.

anything stopping hospitals from making this data public? or sending it to the CDC anyway?
The one thing Trump and his lackeys like to do is find ways to punish people who disagree by using financial means. Since they probably are in charge of distributing Covid19 relief funds to hospitals they could threaten to hold that up or slow the process.

November PLEASE come faster.

How the fuck are we STILL in this mess? ANYONE ELSE would have been dragged out of there years ago! But we have to be stuck in this nightmare until the end.

Agencies need to start telling him no. "But the Pres..." nope, just no. Fire people, increase the coverup initiative, Streisand effect blooms. Scream to every major news outlet Trump is trying to kill you. Just force lame duck status on him now and dont do anything he says.

It is kind of terrifying that despite attempts to suppress data, records continue to be broken in the USA daily. There must be all kinds of manipulations and massaging of the numbers at this point, but I think I saw 67,000+ new cases today? Insane numbers.

This doesn't affect hospitals reporting to their own state health departments though, right?
