I'm a millennial - slayer of industries far and wide because of low buying power.

There's a few different scales and no official measure of generation, and this varies outside Westernized cultures, but we are going to use Wikipedia scale:

  • Baby Boomers: mid 1940s to early 1960s
  • Gen X: mid 1960s to late 1970s
  • Millennials: early 1980s to early 1990s
  • Gen Z: mid 1990s onward

I was born in 95 and consider Gen Z to be later 90's tbh. I will be forever fighting the battle of not being on Gen Z.

Gen X and proud of it. Born in 1976. Growing up in the 80's was objectively superior to the 90's and later.
Yeah, but you didn't have internet so 🤔

Xer. Born in 79 with two older brothers makes me firmly in that camp. Little brother was born in 82 but with three Xer brothers he identifies with us more than millenials.

I know a lot of people have different definitions of what these mean. The Pew Research Center defines them as such:

These B00m3rs. What do you have to say for yourselves now that you have plunged the millenials into deep debts and assigned us the moniker of being "lazy", eh?

I always liked the idea of generations being 18 years. Seems dumb for it to be 18 years for Silent and Boomers, then 15 years for Gen X and Millennials. I say back to 18 years! That way, the "Gen Z" Generation starts in 2001 and would be ending basically now.

I'm an old Millennial (born Jan 1983).

Generations are dumb but if I'm gonna have to go with a label I'm going with Xennial or Oregon Trail Generation.

Baby boomers should start in 1943 or 1944 but shit is so arbitrary that you might as well lump someone born in 1943 together with someone born in 1946 because their experiences probably aren't going to be different. Either way, shit's dumb.

Gen Z don't use forums, they're all on discord or in youtube comments

Gen X (72) and pretty happy.

Holy crap at the amount of millenials. I guess it makes sense, but didn't think it would be that many.

Exactly the same, but I prefer the 90s, I guess it comes down to experiences.

I was in college in the mid/late 90s in NYC and of drinking and rave age, the city was changing but everything wasn't all banks or 7-11s at this point, it was still wild. I actually miss it and feel bad that Millenials don't get to experience it like that. What a fun time to be alive.

Yeah, but you didn't have internet so 🤔

That's a feature, not a bug :)

We could have some of the Glass Generation among us, honestly. People born around mid-2000s onward. They'd be early teens now. Probably a very tiny minority of the population, however.
