Castlevania Collection was released nearly two years ago, and considering that it isn't especially taxing to aggregate classic Castlevania games with some static art and menus into a compilation, one has to wonder where a Part II or even Part III are.

Some, if not all, of the potential games in these outings are extremely difficult to find in the wild as their native hardware dims and dies. Circle of the Moon relies on backlighting to stay playable and only shone - literally - once played on the GBA Player for GameCube or the backlight GBA clamshell. Symphony of the Night has features and translations scattered across multiple entries and could finally sport a "Best Of" version. ReBirth is locked to WiiWare as a platform. Dawn of Sorrow has contextual screen swipes that would translate well to the handheld touchscreen display of the Switch.

Given the series' historic ties with Nintendo platforms one can only hope a new Castlevania aggregate is announced today, but if not, hopefully soon. These are some of these best games ever released.

Do you see a new Castlevania Collection being released? Which titles do you hope are included?

I'd be happy enough just with the GBA and DS games released as triple packs, they aren't easy to find these days.

if there is a second collection, the portable igavanias aren't next. you still got chronicles, dracula x, OG SOTN, Rondo, another GB game. And because of Sony's Requiem, I'm not sure when Rondo and SOTN can be collected again together.

In your dreams man, in your dreams. Nothing was ever announced, it was just assumed, and with Konami assuming is disaster.
I do hope that we get a collection of the handheld titles at some point, as someone that absolutely hates handhelds and only plays games on my tv I would love to play all of those GBA games on my PS5 or Switch. I am also not expecting it to ever happen though.

Would they skip the 3D entries as a measure of quality control or include them for completion's sake?

I ask it myself everyday.

My first complete playthrough of a Castlevania game was last year when I bought the anniversary collection. I really enjoyed the series and I wish I could play the Igavanias in a subsequent collection :(

If this is your trick way to summon it into existence during today's direct and it works, I love you OP!

The collection was part of Konami's 50th Anniversary celebration, so maybe if we're lucky we'll get another one for the 60th.
Or maybe the 100th....

SOTN and Rondo are on their "Requiem" double pack, so those aren't going to be in the next one unfortunately.

They probably consider it already done with the Symphony/Rondo thing from a while back.

I also want another Konami Anniversary Collection Arcade Classics with games like Frogger, Yie Ar Kung Fu, Rush 'N Attack, Sunset Riders, Vendetta, Violent Storm, Metamorphic Force, Hot Chase, Shao-Lin's Road, WEC Le Mans, etc. etc. etc.

Honestly I was kinda disappointed generally in how Konami did the Anniversary Collections. Castlevania should've had Rondo for sure (maybe bump Kid Dracula), the Arcade collection probably should've been a dedicated M2 Gradius/Salamander collection rather than some Arcade Archives bundled together and for the big draw they should've had M2 port their ReBirth trilogy entries to each one (Gradius, Contra, Castlevania: The Adventure). Plus adding online to Gradius and Contra.

Weren't Konami pivoting back to video games with the current state of casino gambling?

They never pivoted away; they just stopped focusing on AAA prestige games like MGS & put their focus on games that were more profitable (sports games, Yu-Gi-Oh, Japanese-exclusive stuff) or that had a low cost, high reward (Bomberman, retro collections like the Castlevania Collection). I believe videogames have always been their highest grossing division.

By all accounts, their retro collections did very well for them, so I would expect to see more, just a matter of when.

I think it's incorrect to say they're pivoting- Konami makes (and has made) dramatically more money from both their video games and sports (as in gyms) divisions than their pachinko/gambling divisions every year. Pachinko has always been a minority of their earnings, but over time people got louder and louder about their distaste for it. Combined with the departure of a lot of their core gaming staff we got this incorrect narrative that pachinko/gambling was a bigger priority.

Is anything missing from the iOS/Android port of SOTN? Seems kinda like the ultimate version you're looking for.

Ah, I was fond of the PS2 iterations and Lords of Shadow, even if a bit repetitive.

Guess we're going to agree to disagree lol. I'm fond of the LoS games to some extent, but for me the Kobe games are the pinnacle of 3DVania

Oh well, getting to the original topic (my apologies if i have gotten a bit dismissive here) it caught me by surprise precisely because i was speaking about this with a friend yesterday. A new collection should be in order this year, since it's the 35th anniversary of the series.

And leaving personal tastes aside, i can't see Konami putting the N64 Castlevanias in, they have never shown interest in re-releasing those games, while they re-released even Haunted Castle once.

If not in today's Direct, we'll se it sooner than later. Now, wich games? Hopefully they'll just throw everything 2D in the package, including the DS games.

What's wrong with them? I have the collection and was planning on playing it soon.
They're based on the PSP collection, which has some scaling/performance/emulation issues depending on each title. Also SOTN imo has a worse Maria than Saturn SOTN and downgraded localization from the PSX original.

They're okay and fully playable, just not the best versions. M2 would've done better.

Konami usually announce these things around the times of their financial reporting, no?

Here's hoping for a Suikoden collection + Castlevania collection 2.
