I always let it play out. Lets me decompress if it was a good experience and i look up reviews during that time to see what others think.

It depends on how interesting the credits are. Text scrolling on a blank background is a skip especially if I don't care for the music. I'm not going to remember any names anyway. Sometimes I'll sit and browse my phone if it feels like there's a chance of something coming up mid sequence.

If it's Ubisoft credits where they list the people who procure coffee beans for the office, no way.

I let the credits roll but I jump on my phone or laptop during it and don't really pay attention unless it was a game I backed and it'll include my name. For example, this was the Bloodstained credits with me in them.

Not usually. I'm always paranoid that skipping the credits might also skip a post-credits scene. It's happened before.

I always let them run, but I'm usually not paying close attention to them. I might be on my phone, or just sitting there reflecting on the experience. My time's not so precious that I need to immediately jump to the next thing.

Make a beautiful credits sequence with great music and I will watch. If it's just a long scrolling list of boredom I can't skip, you get the alt-f4 on PC or I kill the game task on consoles.

I only skip the credits if I've already sat through them once before.

Edit: I also sit through movie credits unless the people I'm with don't want to sit through the whole thing.

Yes, I watch them. If a studio I know or co-developed game I like to know who worked on what in the game.

By this way I learned that Japan Studio didn't actually co-developed the game with Fromsoftware, rather maintaining publisher roles and duties.

I always skip. There's no way I'm going to read an endless list of names. If people say there's a secret cutscene then I'll go to this thing called YouTube.

I always watch. I have too many friends in the game and film industries, and I just feel like it's what I need to do (and it's awesome when I see their names).

To be honest yes I do skip them unless there is a secret ending or some kinda of bonus but if there isn't. Oh yeah 99% I do unless it's a classic rpg. I'm not sure why I just don't.

I generally only skip the credits if I've gone through the credits once before without skipping them. I generally don't watch them (unless there's something else going on during the credits). I usually use the opportunity to use the bathroom or prepare a snack or something. On rare occasion, a game will give you an achievement for "watching" the credits all the way through, and I'd hate to miss out on something so simple.

Voted the third one, but it doesn't even have to be particularly interesting, if it has good music and doesn't run for an absurd amount of time, I'll take some time to reflect on the experience, and then maybe look up something related to the game while it plays.

I still appreciate always having the option to skip them, though. I love replaying games, and it's a pain in the ass to be forced to wait every time.

Care to explain why or are you too busy writing sibylline judgments on strangers opinions on a videogame forum?
Sure,

I think calling the list of people that developed the game that you just spent however many hours playing soulless is asinine.

You have an opinion. I think it's a bad take because of what I said. Or am I not allowed to share my opinion about yours?

I'll usually watch developer credits and skip the publisher/region credits. Usually know people throughout the credits so its nice to reflect and respect.

I feel like spending 60 dollars and giving all the praise to the developer as a whole via reviews, not to mention taking time out of the day(s) to experience their vision is basically doing my part in respecting the team. Already supported it but if there were people I personally knew then I would watch it. Other than that? Thanks for the enjoyment. *skip*

cmon, since mgs i know that watching credits is necessary.
why are people skipping credits?
i also have to say, credits going on for more than 10minutes is not ok.

keep credits short. or make them scroll faster.

I skip it unless there's something interesting to watch.

I have a fucking controller in my hands, there's no reason this shit needs to scroll at such a slow speed or without any kind of manual page flipping. There have been games that I could have sworn the credits played through the entire soundtrack AND THEN STARTED AGAIN FROM THE BEGINNING before the credits finished.

Unless there's a video playing in the background that adds something to the game or some sort of interactivity (and even then I get bored), I'll skip asap. I don't need to waste my time watching a bunch of names scroll by.

I always skip credits. I have no interest in reading the names of people who worked on the game or in the studio's accounting department. It's also kind of weird that people think sitting through a 20 minute credit roll is somehow a sign of respect when you forget literally every name you just saw after it scrolls off the screen.

If you like the music and want to chill while the credits roll, or want to see if there's any fun extras tossed in, or maybe even know someone on the team and want to see their name then that's cool. But let's be real, sitting through credits is as empty and meaningless of a gesture as slapping a "Support our troops" ribbon magnet on your car

Depends on the music or if i want to check some names in the credits. Most of the times, i skip. Especially since the credits are getting longer and longer in bigger games.

Maybe I am a weirdo (actually I know I am) but I like to let the credits roll and I try and read as much as I can. These are people that spent a good chunk of their time to craft whatever entertainment I just finished. Somehow I feel like its the least I can do.

If it's not a kickstarter game with thousands of names, I tend to keep it on in the background as I do something else. I don't really "watch".

First time through a game, I'll always have the credits roll on in the background. I'm certainly not in a rush to do anything else after I finish a game.

Yes, you are. I think you will agree, however, that trashing another's opinion without arguing anything is equally asinine.

Sure. If I enjoyed this wonderful experience (enough to finished it), then least I could do is let it roll for a few minutes.

Let it run, maybe I'll get an achievement.

Also, I probably have to go to the bathroom.

And maybe there's a stinger?

Seeing the number of people involved, be it small or large, is interesting too.

I'm a busy person. I haven't got time to look at a list of names slowly scrolling.

Pretty much this. It's not like people get an alert every time their name gets read off of a credits screen. Playing the game is showing your support.

This is probably the 100th time this community has had this debate though.

I record everything I play so when I get to the end, I typically fiddle with my laptop until the credits are over. Maybe there's a post-credits stinger/sequelbait

I usually let them run and come back in 15 minutes or so...if it's an Ubisoft game I come back the next day.

I let them play. I look at it as a sign of respect, plus you never know if something might happen after.

I'm usually paranoid about credits that by sitting through them I get an achievement, a bonus unlock, an extra scene or whatever.

This is where I'm at. I'm afraid that if I skip I will miss some little snippet or cutscene at the end, and some games have tied achievements/trophies to watching the entire credit roll, so I usually just let it run and go make a sandwich or check my phone.

Skipping is for monsters.

I usually let them play, some credits sequences are really nice, with a good ending song and animations, like Spider-Man's for example or more like how Telltale's walking dead games end.

They're a good way to reflect and process the game and wind down.

But if they go on for too long I do skip.
