There's been like three of these since the pandemic started (more if we count that Japanese demon stone). I'm not saying we shouldn't avoid curses but I am saying that proof of vampires/demons/ghosts/undead mummies would actually be one of the better news stories we've had in awhile.

What´s the worry here exactly? 700 years is not "not that long ago"
20 meters is honestly not much in those towns and those cathedrals...
What knowledge? Unless the body has been preserved to an unusual degree where record of the state of their organs and/or intestinal flora can be made there are plenty of existing bodies from the same time period to be studied.
I think it's really interesting. There's always something new we learn about people in certain time periods when we uncover and analyze stuff like this.

Whenever these happen I never find out what's in the coffin because it's just "some dude, I dunno" and the followup news stories don't even get written.
