I was thinking about it with Sonic coming up soon and it being the first vintage Carrey movie in awhile. It's the most exciting thing about it. Leaving out eternal sunshine because that's just something different and barely a "jim carrey movie"

If it can't be Eternal Sunshine, then Man On The Moon or The Truman Show (would have to rewatch this one it's been ages)

The Truman Show is so good, but Ace Ventura was pretty much prime Jim Carrey in the comedy department.

Not a movie, but Kidding is the best thing he has done. And not many of you have probably seen it. :(
Also, why is Eternal Sunshine not a Jim Carrey movie to you? Of course it is.

Eternal Sunshine is one of my all time favorite movies in general. And he was also fantastic as Andy Kaufman in Man on the Moon. Netflix has a cool documentary called Jim & Andy about how he totally became Andy on and off set.

Also a fan of all of his 90s comedies. Can't honestly rank them. All so good.

Have not watched it in a while so not sure if it would still hold up as my favorite but I will say it anyway since it was my favorite as of last viewing. Liar Liar. Actually surprised I am not the only vote for it.

Either The Truman Show or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Drama-comedy Jim Carrey is the best Jim Carrey.
Also, a special shoutout to The Grinch since it's probably my favorite Christmas movie ever.

How you gonna make this thread and leave Eternal Sunshine out of the poll?

Eternal Sunshine is the answer. And it's my favorite movie of all time, period.

The Mask I feel was a wonderful showcase for him, without him the movie would have really struggled. Likewise Ace Ventura. Empty vessel films that rely solely on star draw. Enjoyable.

Truman is my personal all rounder favourite. Great piece

I never understood Dumb and Dumber's appeal

Eternal was fantastic

1a. Ace Ventura 2
1b. The Mask.

Eternal Sunshine is probably the best movie he's been in. But I don't go to it for that "Jim Carrey" experience.

I'm offended by the poll's lack of Eternal Sunshine, and also my actual favorite:

Dumb and Dumber is falling behind as I grow older. I still laugh like a fucking idiot at Ace Ventura. The "sneaking around" bit during the party is the hardest I've ever laughed at a movie. But Truman Show is objectively the greatest movie in his repertoire. That movie makes me tear up every single time.

The dramas are great and better, but Liar Liar is infinitely rewatchable and my favorite. I still laugh every time.

Mr Popper's Penguins isn't on the poll so I begrudgingly voted for Dumb and Dumber

Eternal Sunshine not being an option is a high crime and misdemeanor.

His speech from that film about maintaining a single happy memory in that film wrecks me every time I watch it. Such an understated performance in a film where he could have easily hammed it up.

Eternal Sunshine.
Will watch him in just about anything though. I miss the Jim Carrey explosion of the 90s. Seems he hardly acts anymore.
