A lot of merchandise emails I get recently have clearly moved from standard action figure type prices ($100) to premium type figures ranging from $500 to $5,000.
I'm just a little bit surprised at the upper range. Millennials have money now I guess?

I did end up getting the Robosen Optimus Prime for $750, and that was my upper limit.

Would you spend $3,599 on a Death Standing figure?
$5,000 on a Dante figure?
$13,000 on a FF6 figure?

Or if you want to go into more one of a kind collectables, how about $50-$150K for Chris Hemsworth's Mjolnir?

I don't know where people even put all this stuff to be honest. I already downsized last year.

Even £50-£100 is only for things I'm really into. Above that it would to be something special, likely signed or unique in some way.

That said I am tempted by some of the fancy Lego sets but can't really justify it, that's a rabbit hole indont want to fall down.

I think my limit would be about $500, and it would have to be *perfect*. As it stands, the most I've ever spent on a piece of memorabilia is about $300.

Yeah I avoid Lego. I bought one set during Covid for like $200 and realized I couldn't afford the hobby.
Now I have a big Lego Defender I need to put somewhere.

If we had 3 bedrooms, I'd probably go nuts on buying Lego. It's probably for the best we don't have space.

Why does poll jump from approximately $100 to approximately $1000

There is a lot of merch between those two prices.

My answer hower is I have spend $400 on Sideshow statues.

I bought an enamel pin for $500 one time. It ended up being a special version that I sold for $1,000 and bought the normal one for $500 again. Thats the most expensive merch ive ever bought, but it worked out well for me.

Ive also bought a funko pop for $300.

Nothing else really close to those.

I cant imagine spending $1,000+ on a piece of merch I would just display. The only thing I can think of that MAYBE i would spend close to a grand on would be something signed by David Lynch. Ive wanted his auto for a long ass time.

I have spent over $1,000 on individual things, even before shipping. Never broken 5k for anything yet.

So that.

Probably doesn't count but i bought a Pokémon card for over $300 recently but, thanks to PayPal's Pay in 4, I broke it into 4 payments. Before that, I've spent over $500 twice on two different pairs of Yeezys.

I've spent 6k+ on a comic book(X-Men #1), if that counts. I don't regret the purchase at all, it brings me great joy. At some point I'll spend considerably more for Fantastic Four #1.

For just toys and stuff like that, then probably 500 or so for a statue. I used to be big into that stuff but I ran out of room and have a cat that likes to knock things down lol.

In my younger days, like $100 or something. Now? Nothing. I'm done with collecting stuff.

But who am I kidding. If I had the money I'd probably have a room full of lewd anime figures or something.

I don't think I've ever paid over $100 for any single piece of merchandise.

Maybe even $75, come to think of it.

There's been a few instances where I've spent over $100 in one purchase, but it's been multiple items.

For instance, a Limited Run Games purchase of $158.51 (post tax and shipping) covered a Limited Edition of the Scott Pilgrim videogame, an Anamanaguchi slipmat for my turntable, (that I'll hopefully be able to use someday, haven't unboxed my record player since moving and may end up buying a different model completely), the game's soundtrack on vinyl, and a copy of Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 for good measure.

I've bought some musician t-shirts for 30~40 euros. I think those are the only "pure merch" stuff I've bought and I wore them until they had holes in them.

$2500 for a signed Final Fantasy lithograph. But it doesn't scream "geek/video games" so I can keep it in the living room.

$150 is my limit for general merch, and even then it has to be something very special.
