What was your reaction to the first time your computer got a virus?

I just turned the computer on and it already had viruses.

I looked up porn on the computer at my first job and they had to buy anti-spyware software to get it back into working order.

Somehow didn't get fired for that.

I remember yelling "fucking HOW???" and then letting out a big angry sigh as I went to go unplug the ethernet cable.

Got ransomware from a compromised ad that ran on sevenstring.org. Still salty about it to this day.

Luckily I used my wife's PC to burn a copy of windows defender offline to a CD and clean it with that. I was furious the entire time.

Got Stoned virus from a shared NBA Playoffs floppy disk back in '87. Just ran a virus cleaner and game on...

Nowadays it helps to have a current boot partition imaged somewhere nearby for quick restores. Encrypting ransomwares are a pain in the butt.

I briefly panicked but searched how to get rid of it and successfully did which really launched my computer career. Had to restart it in safe mod and use pill box, I didn't want my dad to lord over me how dumb I was for getting the computer infected.

I remember the golden age of worms with Windows XP. Wasn't it great when your computer could catch a malware just by... being there.
