I just realized the order history on Amazon is amazing and goes back 18 years for me. It's like a snapshot in history of my tastes at the time.

16th November 2001: The Beastie Boys - Sounds of Science and a copy of Carry on Cruising on DVD for my mum.

Bonus: I ordered a copy of Encarta Premium in 2003. What a world.

CDs. I went through a music purchasing binge when I first started using Amazon since I couldn't find anything I wanted in music stores around here.

An iPod Nano in 2006

Wish I still had it, I had a great case for it too. Probably gave it to a family member who destroyed it.

2005, Cowon iAudio X5 multimedia player. One of the more feature-rich MP3/audio players of its time, IIRC.

A 2GB Memory Stick Micro back in 2008.....wow...that was for a sony ericsson phone I had on Tmobile. I wasn't cool enough to have a PSP at that time.

Kung Pow: Enter The Fist and the Super Mario Bros movie on DVD back in 2006.
Anything before that would have been on my parents' account. The first thing that comes to mind is the 20" Phillips CRT TV I got in 2003-ish that I still have.

What was your first Amazon purchase?

Your Amazon account shows your entire purchase history. I looked at mine, and my very first purchase ever was an order for Final Fantasy X-2 and Mario Kart Double Dash, all the way back in 2003. I had forgotten that it was my first purchase. I then proceeded to look at my entire purchase history...

Some book. I didn't even know about Amazon until I got a Kindle.

I thank my father for showing me the way.

Pre ordered Order of the Phoenix all the way back on January 19th 2003.

To think that one the greatest games of all time would come out just 2 months later is making me feel old and depressed.

August 13th 2005 - Rushmore and The Royal Tenebaums on DVD, The Soft Bulletin by the Flaming Lips and Programmed to Love by Bent on CD. Also ordered a 20GB iPod and Spacewalk by Lemonjelly on CD the very next day.

It was a post birthday splurge after I turned 18. Forgot how much I used to love Wes Anderson's films (didn't like Life Aquatic much and basically lost all interest after that. I did enjoy Grand Budapest Hotel though)

PS4 preorder during E3 2013.
I'd been buying stuff from other places online for nine years before that.
