MacBook Pro launched a 16-inch replacement for their 15-inch model. This coming years after having discontinued the 17-inch model.

I had a 15-inch for 8 years, but last year downsized to 13-inch and I love it. There's something unwieldy to me about larger laptops. I really value portability to a degree, so I don't know that I'd get a bigger laptop again.

15-inch seems like the wide standard, but many sizes exist.

What size do you prefer and why?

14 is the perfect balance between portablity and performance

15 is good if you need more of a workstation

17 is garbage. i had one and it was unusable as a laptop.

ive never had 13 but it doesnt seem comfortable. i have a 14 now and sometimes it feels small.

Somewhere...
15". 13" is a little too small for me. I like doing things at the same time and I need screen space. Lugging it around is definitely a problem, but that's mostly about the weight.

15" for my work laptop.
13" for my personal laptop.

I'd only use 15" for work purposes, it's far too big for every day leisurely use.

15" is nice for portability, though personally I like 17" for the real estate for media and productivity.

Gonna try to snap up one of those 17" Lenovo Legion systems for Black Friday.

If they have a 16x9 ratio screen then I prefer 15.6 inch laptops

I just got a new laptop, I would have liked a 17", but I wanted better specs. So far the 15" is fine, but I miss the extra space.

I had a 15'' laptop before my current 13'' MBP, but I don't see myself ever going back up to a bigger size. I just want to lug around a large, heavy laptop anymore. Of course, it helps that you can get pretty decent specs out of smaller laptops nowadays.

I can't imagine ever getting a 16-17'' one. I suppose if my work needed to have as much screen space as possible and it'd often have me working at places without monitors available I'd possibly go with a screen that large, but in all other cases I'd rather have a smaller laptop and just plug into a monitor if I needed a desktop experience.

Have a 13.3" right now. I like it alright, but I think I would have preferred a 12. I had a 10" netbook before and I really liked it's portability

Have a 12" for work (X280) and it's great in terms of portability and weight, but it's a pretty miserable experience using a 12" 1080p screen for any period of time. Fortunately it's docked to a couple of big screens 99% of the time, but I appreciate the portability massively when I'm having to lug it from office to office or home.

I have a 17" as my main computer.

I want one computer to do everything, so I went with one that was bigger.

17" is grim for carrying about. If you want something portable then 17" feels too big, imho, and if you don't need anything portable then just get a desktop :D

Honestly, it doesn't bother me that much. I have a backpack it fits in

My laptop is an Elitebook 8770w and I was looking at the 15" model.

What pushed me over to the 17" was the extra hard drive bay it has.

14" seems like the best balance, everything below just gets harder to do any work with, unless it's one of those 13" with zero bezel, where it's really just the same screen size you get on a typical 14" laptop.

I need at least 1080p to work efficiently, and I need 15" for that. I would prefer even larger screen, but that would make the computer too clunky.

13 inch is the perfect size for all round work - college, work, coffeeshop, the desk, bed, etc. It will fit into a small backpack too. Personally never got the point in having a 17 inch laptop, seems like that person would just be better off investing in a desktop unless they were moving it around on a frequent basis. I have never seen someone in Costa or Starbucks using a 17 inch one though, usually 13 inch MacBook, a surface or an iPad.

I hope they release a new 14 inch MacBook Pro in the same sized body as the 13.

13"-14" for work and 15"-17" for playing. But if I had to choose one, I would search for 15" without numeric keypads.
