There was a thread about this very topic about a year ago, so I wanted to return and ask the same question about our 2020 prospects.

Personally, I know Johto already has an amazing remake on the DS, but it's by far my favorite region. But I also think it's the most likely, based on development time. If the backup team is working on Let's Go using the same engine from LGPE, the main team could be focused on the DPP remakes for a 2021 release.

So, which do you think it'll be? I'd also love to know which you'd prefer and why, but the poll is about general likelihood.

I don't think we're seeing either of them.

We're getting neither this year, but we'll get Sinnoh remakes in 2021. Masuda implied Let's Go was a one time thing.

Neither. We already have enough Pokémon content for the rest of the year.

If it was up to me, take a year off from a full release and put out a complete edition of Sw/Sh with the dlc included instead, then Let's Go Johto next year, then a full Sinnoh remake the year after.

Diamond and Pearl are older than Heart Gold and Soul Silver, obviously Sinnoh is up next. Why would they break the pattern four remakes in?

Where is none of the above option? The Mystery Dungeon remake and DLC expansion pack are the only 2020 products. Poll should be for 2021.

I think it's fairly obvious the Armor Isle and the Crown Tundra DLC are what's coming for Pokemon in 2020 apart from spin-off titles.

Neither are happening this year.

Diamond and Pearl remakes can happen at earliest next year, don't think we'll be seeing a Let's Go Johto for a while (if ever.)

Neither of them releases in 2020, IMO, but Diamond and Pearl remakes — and Gen 9 — will come before any continuation of Let's Go is out to market.

Neither at this point, considering we presumably have way more to see of the expansion pass contents and that'll be dripfed to us like the usual Pokémon hype cycle.

Kind of a godsend, honestly, even if it is a bit odd to get the "third version" as it were within a year of the original game's release.

2021 will probably be Diamond/Pearl's remakes though... Or a second expansion pass, filling up the remainder of the Galar dex.

Honestly I don't think let's go was ever really meant to be a thing. It felt more like they needed more time to work on SwSh so they released let's go instead. Don't think they ever intended it to be a full on series.

Neither. All Game Freak should focus on is the DLC they just announced for Sword & Shield.

Neither because they just announced an expansion pass which will fill in for the new game. Especially since the second dlc is out in the fall.

I could see 2021 having a smaller batch of DLC to tie into DP remakes and cross-promote, then 2022 having one last set of DLC for both DP remakes and SWSH to fill out the dex. New gen in 2023.

Honestly I don't think let's go was ever really meant to be a thing. It felt more like they needed more time to work on SwSh so they released let's go instead. Don't think they ever intended it to be a full on series.

Yeah, Let's Go always felt like "we need a Pokemon game on Switch, stat" rather than an ongoing series.

Hoping we never see another lets go game (I'd take no game, or a small DLC to the main series over another lets go).

Considering the sales of Sw/Sh, I hope they realize that the main games sell better, and go for D/P remake.

Neither are happening this year, we're getting the expansions instead.

That said, a Gen 4 remake would happen before Let's Go Johto ever would. Hell, given their recent comments, it seems fairly safe to say that Let's Go isn't going to be an ongoing thing anyhow.

Sinnoh does not need a remake.

Yes it does.

This year? Neither.

Next year when D/P turns 15? D/P remakes are more likely. Especially given the various heavy handed hints in SWSH (at least how I interpreted them anyway)

2021/2022 you mean? DLC is bringing new life to SWSH this year.
Sinnoh is more likely but Game Freak making Palkia and Diagla catchable in SWSH makes me doubt.
Let's GO felt like a one off thing to being GO fans onboard for the Switch so I don't think that's coming back.

Neither, Sinnoh remakes next year. Between DLC coming this year and it being clear that SWSH was rushed to get out the door, that's probably for the best
