Pretty sure the VR games are all Oculus games as in they published it/funded them so I doubt you will see them ported over
Hopefully not a Ratchet and Clank game. It's a mascot from a bygone era that needs to go the way his brethren like Sly, Crash, Spyro, and Jak have gone. Maybe do remasters if you want but the ip is just not exciting or fresh. Spider-man 2 is inevitable I think as is a VR game of some kind. I'm hoping for a Sunset Remaster to gauge interest on Playstation and a new ip.
There will definitely be another SpiderMan and R&C. Who knows what else they have planned. They have 2 teams and the good thing about being aquired by Sony is they have the freedom and funds to explore whatever new IP they want. That Shawn Layden quote doesn't mean what you think it does. It just means those 2 games are currently the most successful this generation for Insomniac so of course they are getting more games.
Me personally i would love to see Insomniac make another Resistance.
Sony owns all of their current ones anyway.
Me too, but the last one bombed despite being one of the best FPS ever.
If they continue them yea of course. Will be interesting to see what they bring to PSVR although I hope the PSVR2 is a nice step up. Going from PSVR to Rift is quite a damn leap in everything and that's just CV1
Their not going to be making anything else but licensed games from now on to be quite honest with you. It's just not gonna be worth it to the exec's at Sony.
Spider-Man 2, at least one Ratchet game, and probably a new IP after that.
You realize Insomniac has more than one team, right? They can support Spider-Man AND make new games. They're not some five-man garage studio.
I really can't tell if some people are being serious or not in this thread. You don't think that Insomniac had discussions with Sony about what they'd be working on before the buyout took place? If so, then why in the world would they agree to becoming a Spider-Man factory given that right now they work on a bunch of different projects alongside the making of that first game? They're obviously going to work on another Spider-Man game, but there's no way that's all they're going to be doing going forward. The last Ratchet game did super well. They're also one of the most experienced VR studios out there, which is obviously something that'd be appealing to Sony because of PSVR. And then Sony has generally had a lot of success in this generation ad last generation as far as creating new IP's go. There's no reason to box Insomniac in to just doing one game.
They were trying to argue that Tomb Raider (which was releasing the same day) had more wide range appeal then Spider-Man and that Spider-Man was niche.
The people in the hype thread leading up to the launch of the game will tell you otherwise.
This was created, courtesy of that thread.

Sony isn't that kind of company. They don't force their teams to work on anything.
Spider-Man is a complete departure from anything Insomniac has made, that's absolutely true
