what kind of soup is witches making in that big pot

We used to make it all the time with my family in southern Indiana. Basically you get a giant pot (or cauldron) and you put in a bunch of ground up meat and veggies and a bigass spice ball, and you churn it in the cauldron for about 4 hours. It's usually a family/friend get-together in the fall and everyone takes turns stirring the pot.

Here's my dad stirring it a few years ago at a party.
