Many times we discuss the best game ever, and that usually boils down to about 10 candidates. However, I do not feel like we've given enough attention to singular compositions of videogame music.

There are so many songs that make me melt, and tug at my existence. I began my gaming journey during the NES days with Metroid.

Still, no matter how many I review in my mind and no matter which part of my life they came from, Nobuo Uematsu's Dancing Mad sticks out to me as the magnum opus of the industry even to this day.

What's yours?

Edit: Mods please move to gaming!

On this very Sunday....

But it's probably all of Tommy Tallarico's The Terminator on the Sega CD OST.

It singlehandedly turns an ok game to a great game.

The most recent one but it absolutely gets me because of what it encapsulates

And I can't pick a version of this. Dearly Beloved is one of the most moving pieces of video game music

Classical/orchestral is my favorite genre of music in general, so as far as I'm concerned, the "best" would probably be

For me it's Crystal Spire from Darksiders II. It was released in the official soundtrack, but never played in the actual game.
My fav track of all time, and it's so underrated.

Dancing Mad is a good candidate but let's not forget its big brother!
