What is "rose twitter" and why is it used as a battering ram against leftists?

I've been noticing this more and more but whenever someone wants to mock, belittle, or worse anyone in the left they will sneer the words "Rose Twitter". I see it used in a context of "well if Rose Twitter wanted to stop X they would get more organized" or to declare anyone on the left secretly white supremacists (the fact that the later will usually be declared by someone who isn't a minority at someone who IS a minority is always the irony on top).

And I've looked it up and...it's just an emote for people on twitter next to their names? That's it? This is the tool used to bash anyone who has any inkling of leftist ideals to paint them as worst than the right? I don't get it. Why do people try and use this to bash leftists? Or say because Rose Twitter doesn't organize and pay for stuff, this means all leftists never will do an inch of work? Or any of the insane shit thrown at leftists because "rose twitter"?

I treat the term "Rose Twitter" the same way as the term "SJW". If someone uses it unironically in order to describe people they don't agree with and to make fun of them, it raises some very strong red flags and I'll make sure to subsequently avoid them and ignore them.

Seeing as nobody here is actually going to explain it, Rose Twitter generally means DSA folks specifically. The reason it's hard to decipher what it means as a phrase is because it's used at cross purposes. It's either used dumbass liberals furious that people don't want to vote for a rapist who won't give them health care, or by leftists frustrated at the ridiculous shortcomings of the DSA as an organization.
