Only Nier. Like, three copies lol.

Possibly Persona Strikers as well, though not sure if on PC or PS5.

Maybe Persona and Nier depending on what pre-release discounts GMG and Fanatical have. Beyond that, nothing announced as a 2021 game is a day one purchase.

Unless FF16 gets a hard release date.

For games that we know about so far?

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, Kena, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, It Takes Two, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Returnal (probably), Horizon Forbidden West, and God of War Ragnarok (if it makes it.)

Out of what seems likely to release in 2021: Super Mario 3D World.

Breath of the Wild 2 would surprise me, but I'm definitely game if it does. As a rule, I only tend to purchase Nintendo games at launch, since they're so much more stingy with their discounts than other publishers.

NEO TWEWY and SMT V for sure. Maybe Bravely Default II and Rune Factory 5. Probably Pokemon if a new one releases. Others like Disgaea 6 or MH Stories 2 will probably be pushed back until they're on sale or something.

BOTW2 and 3D World at the very least.

I have 3D World on the Wii U, but being my favourite 3D Mario coupled with the extra content and adjustments will make it a worthy purchase for me.

Kena if it's $40, I don't really buy games at full price (I didn't at $60 and I sure as hell won't at $70).

Majority of Switch titles: NMH3, Bravely Default 2 (I don't even like it but I'm starving for a JRPG), Ys 9, Neo TWEWY, GnG Resurrection, SMT3, SMT5, Persona 5 Strikers, Rune Factory 5 and Disgaea 6

On PS5: Returnal and Ratchet and Clank so far

It Takes Two
Griftlands
(if the switch pro comes until then, if not I'll buy it when it comes)

those are the only ones so far. I'm probably not going to buy into next gen in 2021 either so it's backlog mostof the way for me.

Every new game that's gonna be 60fps or significally boosted visual effects etc. on next gen and worth waiting for I'll rather wait, so

Elden Ring
Kena
Crimson Desert

I'll buy later

At £70? Fucking nothing.

also this - seriously

I already got Persona 5 Strikers. Depending on if I have a PS5 by then and if it keeps looking good, Ghostwire Tokyo.

Mass Effect Trilogy.
New God of War. Hopefully 2021.
Destiny 2 and FFXIV expansions, if that counts.

From stuff that's officially confirmed for 2021, just Monster Hunter Rise and maybe NieR Replicant. Breath of the Wild 2 as well if that comes out, and probably Pokémon Diamond/Pearl remakes if they're announced

Back4Blood and The Ascent. Maybe not The Ascent though because there is a high chance I still won't be able to get an Xbox when it release. :(

God of War is the only one currently announced but that isn't coming out next year.

The only other day 1 games are gamepass or unannounced. I'm trying to cut back on all day 1 purchases for all products.

Bravely Default 2
Monster Hunter Rise
No More Heroes 3
Rune Factory 5
Monster Hunter stories 2
BotW2
The World end with you 2
SMTV
GnG:R (if there's a physical version)
Almost the EXACT same, except replace GnG:R with Disco Elysium Final Cut, and MAYBE SMT3HD (depends on reviews, as I heard its pretty rough in the JP release)

My wallet is going to die.

There were some other indies that looked incredible that I'm sure I will get

I'm sure I will cave on some more too.

trying to be good for now cause I think next year is gonna be a bloodbath on my wallet

I've actually decided I'm not going to be buying any games at launch in 2021 or any more actually. This year has proven to me that I don't 'need' to have games on day one. It's highly likely that they are going to be improved upon with patches and maybe even at a discount when I buy them a few months down the line.

Really the only reason any of us buy games day one is bc of FOMO and I'm just not willing to subject myself to it anymore.

Resident Evil Village
Mass Effect Legendary Edition
Ghostwire Tokyo
Mario 3D World

If they come out:
Elden Ring
Starfield
FF16
Zelda 35th stuff
BOTW 2
Pokemon Let's Go Johto

Still quite unsure what the year will be like, and how long it'll take to get a PS5 lol.

But for sure is BotW2 and GoW Ragnarok. Maybe is stuff like SMTV, Horizon, Ratchet. Need to see more of them though. Probably gonna get into the habit of buying next gen games and selling them asap because of that bloody price hike.

I imagine there's quite a bit still to come, especially on Nintendo's part. A Metroid game, Mario Odyssey sequel, Pokémon Gen 4 or Zelda 3D collection are others I'd likely get day one. For Switch stuff in particular there's literally no point in waiting because games don't get price drops more than 5-10$ once a year anyway lmao.

I'm also on the fence for SMT3HD mainly beacause of the first impressions.
So much gaming goodness. Let's hope we have the time to enjoy it lol.

Uh. Breath of the Wild 2 if that comes out.

I'd have gotten Hitman 3, but I've got all my stuff and chievos on Steam, so I'll have to wait for a year. Bummer but I'm saving money at least!

Edit: for sure Yakuza 3-5 and, depending on whether I'm worn out or not, Yakuza 6 on PC.

Elden Ring, Silksong, Horizon Forbidden West, assuming they're 2021 😭

Um, that's kind of it? Maybe Stray if it ends up shaping up really special.

Locks:
- Hitman 3
- Nier Replicant
- Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne HD

Locks if they somehow launch:
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2
- Final Fantasy XVI
- Elden Ring
- Whatever Pokemon game launches

Maybe:
- Deathloop (If by May none of those maybe locks are schedule to release)
- It Takes Two
- Bayonetta 3 (I have not played the first 2, but they seem up my alley)
- Hollow Knight Silksong (Same with Bayonetta basically)
- Shin Megami Tensei V (If I somehow finish Nocturne and IV by then)

I love Hitman but I got burned so bad on the price drops last time that I'm in no rush to pick it up.

But Mass Effect trilogy is a major go
