I remember reading something in national geographic about them like a decade ago. Aren't there some endangered turtles there or something? Are they doing better now?

The turtles are fine. They subsist in the islands' natural supply of jalapeño poppers that grow on trees.
I've had jalapenos and I've had poppers, but I'm not sure I'd be willing to put jalapeno poppers up my nose.
The Us government filled them with cheese and deep fried them as a side project from their nuclear testing in the South Pacific.

I made these on the grill – cream cheese inside, wrapped in chicken then bacon.
Man, I'm hungry.
Tasty as hell but not worth the effort. I'll just do it like pictured next time lol
Imagine trying to keep raw chicken and bacon from sliding around the outside of slick jalapeños with wet toothpicks and cream cheese fingers. Now imagine having to do that 15-20 times.
