I'd be shocked if anything but Call of Duty is the best selling. I'm going to predict Dreams as highest scoring. If it's everything it seems to be then low-to-mid 90 OpenCritic seems very possible.

Highest score - hopefully Dreams, but unfortunately I don't think critics are gonna go easy on it without a substantial SP campaign.

Other than that we probably don't know enough about release dates to say for sure.

Best selling - CoD, although this is a fallen Infinity Ward year so I don't know if it's as certain as previous years. Hopefully MW4.

I'm surprised so many people think TLoU2 comes out next year. That's a 2020 title for sure.

Best score: Doom Eternal
Best selling: Fifa 20 or something

Animal Crossing on Switch should very likely be the #1 seller, New Leaf did EXTREMELY well and on Switch it will be even bigger I think.

Only the usual multiplat games like COD and FIFA give it competition I feel.

Edit: Oh shit, totally forgot Pokemon. That then. If it's gen 8. Nothing will top it.

Best Selling: CoD
Best Selling Exclusive: Animal Crossing
Best Rated: Metroid Prime 4 / TloU2 / Bayonetta 3

Yeah I dont know if either of those games come out this year.. but I'd say at least 1 of them does and that one will win ;)

Highest Selling will be FIFA 20, followed by Call of Duty as per usual (in the UK).
Highest Selling if we ignore FIFA and COD: I'm putting my money on Anthem. It's a mass game, in a popular genre and it's releasing ridiculously early in the year. By the time September 2019 swings by, Anthem will be so far ahead of anything releasing in peak that I believe only FIFA and COD could catch it.
Highest Scoring is impossible to predict... but it's fun. I'm going to go with Pokemon on the Switch. All of the past AAA Switch games have scored favourably, so this seems like a safe bet.

Did OP really put KH3? It won't even be the best selling game in Q1.

The obvious answer would be CoD or FIFA. If we ignore those then something like the Division 2 or Anthem unless something like Star Wars or another big Ubisoft title is announced to release in 2019.

Edit: I guess Pokémon is a decent shout.

We have our predictions in for the flop.
What will be the best reviewed game of the year (highest Meta/Opencritic)?
What will sell the most?

Highest score: 93

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Best selling:

Kingdom Hearts 3
I love KH to death and KH3 is the most I've ever anticipated a game, but in what world is it outselling CoD? Hell I'd put Animal Crossing above it in terms of sales. Not to mention games like Fifa and Pokemon.

Pokemon Gen 8 is gonna do monstrous gangbusters. I can only see it losing to yearly franchises in terms of sales.

On that note, if people's wet dereams concerning what a next gen Pokemon should be like come to pass, I can see reviewers collectively losing their shit over it, enough to put it in the top 5 highest rated of the year. Not that it's likely to happen mind you, it will probably be a pretty standard Pokemon game.

Shenmue 3.

It will release to criticical acclaim, winning GOTY for 2019 AND 2020 in advanced.

The Game Awards?
Best direction, best music, best indie game, best sports game (forklift driving to), best narrative, best fighting game, best performance (Corey Marshall reprises his role and his stilted performance on some deeper level connects with all 20 million people that played it - also, memes abound).

Best selling game of the year on PS4, Xbox and Switch despite being a PS4/PC exclusive.

Video games are forever changed. People will ask, where were you when you first played Shenmue 3. Kojima is so inspired he changes Death Stranding to become a Shenmue spin off (Norman Reedus as Fuku-San).

Gonna be fucking lit🔥🔥🔥
Can't wait.

Why are people saying best-selling exclusive will be Animal Crossing or TLOU2 when Pokemon Gen 8 hits next year? Doesn't make any sense lol.

(The actual best-selling game will be COD, as always).

Best selling will be cod, if we're pretending cod doesn't exist then probably the division 2.

Best reviewed tlou 2 assuming it is a 2019 game

I don't think Sekiro will review THAT well, some reviewers will inevitably feel disappointed by some of the mechanics from Souls that won't carry over, even though they're big From Sofware fans and wanted/were chosen to review the game for that reason.

And that's assuming the game flawlessly executes on its premise, there's also the possibility of it having major flaws in what it set out to do, bringing the average score down even more.

I doubt it. Edge are huge Souls fans and they raved about Sekiro after a hands-on at E3. It also won Game of the Show at Gamescom. I think many will see it as a breath of fresh air from From.

HIghest Rated - Dreams, lack of meaty single player campaign could work against it, but fingers crossed.

Best Selling : the next COD, duh!

Best selling: CoD like always. This years instantly became the best selling title of the year when it came out.

Highest rated: TLOU2 if it makes it out. If not, maybe KH3.

In order of sales, highest to lowest, with metascore

FIFA Whatever (85)
COD Whatever (82)
TLOU2
Metro (90-93)
Days Gone (80-85)
Sekiro (85-90)
Resident Evil 2 Remake (90-95)

My best guesses!

Sales - COD, FIFA, Pokemon in that order
Metacritic - TLOU2 or Cyberpunk depending which comes out.

Probably Call of Duty for the best seller, people really seem to like Black Ops 4 (as an extremely casual COD player, I don't play the game any more but I think it's their best since Advanced Warfare) so the next one will probably continue to do well. And there's no huge Rockstar like multiplat to give it a run for its money in 2019.

Highest scoring I'd say TLOU2 or Cyberpunk if either releases this year.
