I've been playing through Blue Lions in Fire Emblem and I do really like some of the war time combat quotes in the game.

"Only thorns left on this rose."

"I disposed of doubt long ago."

"Only thorns left on this rose." I think is my favorite combat quote I can remember, but I haven't played too many games with combat quotes other than Fire Emblem recently. What are the best lines a character says after engaging in combat?

its almost cliche at this point but
"NOW IM MOTIVATED"
from Virgil in DMC3 is still so good.

It's not a line but KH1's Sora's confident "Haha" that he drops when you use a finisher sometimes has a unique charm to it.

Actually KH1 Sora in his entirety had a charm that was never recaptured.

MvC1 Onslaught (corrupted Charles Xavier) has some pretty good ones:


"Know my name and fear it."
"No one is safe."
"Behold my mighty hand."
"The dream is dead."

Thanos in Infinity War/Endgame has some great lines, too, but I don't know if they're in any games.

If Fire Emblem is mentioned, we need to talk about Frederick in Awakening for one of the all time greats.

"Pick a god and pray!"

But Three Houses is no slouch when it comes to good quotes. Marianne has one that stands out to me. Marianne is quiet, avoids people, and generally prefers the company of horses. So her combat quotes are on the reluctant side, until we get this gem on a crit:

"MY BLOOD COMPELS ME!"

Playing Marianne as something other than a healer gets some interesting results in combat quotes. And she does have a strength in swords, so...

A little bit long but I have never been so hyped for a mission in a game in my life!
