Yeah, it's very uncommon to just drop without a sign here, just small packages, but still very rare.Brazil here.

What he is saying is that in the US they do not come back another day to deliver if the person is not at home.
They leave the package at the door!
I'm from SĂŁo Paulo, and to my knowledge here deliveries require a person to receive and sign.
This. Also means you can pick it up in the morning instead of waiting until whenever they swing by (usually ~4 pm for me)FedEx | System Down

So weird to me that packages are just left outside in the US. In the UK they take it to the depot if you're not in.
That is how it is in the US as well but most have opted into allowing them to leave packages that don't require signature.Just to get this straight, in US they just let your $500 package at the doorstep?
Here if there's nobody home (3 times) you need to pick it up at the closest post office.
What's the alternative?Came in to say this. Cant believe that packages are just dropped off at your door in the US. Seems fucked up.
Taking the package with them to try again later, dropping it off at a pick up point, making appointments so that residents are home etc. etc.
Here they ring the neighbour's and give it there with a receipt left for you it's at the neighbour's or they come back later. Then after 3 times not possible to deliver. You can pick it up at a certain location.
