Whenever I hear the 20 million number I think - what have they got in store for FYQ4 that we dont know about
maybe a certain trilogy remaster that was supposed to be revealed at a certain game awards before certain plans got changed?
I think it's hard to say if they will make it without knowing what will release in February and March, but either way it will be close.
Anecdotally, but yeahMaybe im confused but are you saying the Switch is sold out every where?
MK8D is the only bundle in the classic term and it was for one weekend only unless Nintendo brings it back next year. They've had many bundles in this period, including the MK8D one which is effectively a price drop.
Just saw that here
MP Trilogy would not have a big marketing campaign though.Eh, I know metroid historically hasnt been a huge deal outside of its core fanbase but it would be a big 1st party title in an otherwise quiet period, I think it would have an impact. Just having a big marketing campaign would have some impact.
He even said 10 millions after Q1 report, lolYou'd have thought people would know better than to ask Pachter about this particular topic, because we've seen in the past he hasn't got the best grasp on it.
That would be a huge thing potentially if Nintendo bothered to actually make it online this time :/

It will still be big but not the same.
Seriously. Reggie is full of shit too because he doesn't want to tank Nintendo's stock if he says "We aren't going to hit our targets". Even if they weren't going to make it, Reggie would NEVER say that.
Should've dropped the "U" - such a fuckin' weird and kinda gross title.
Also they should've done a 3D World port instead. Yeet.

Are you sure? I checked a bunch of online retailers (In the UK) and its in stock on every website.

While this will sell for a sure, a 2D platformer isn't the same novelty that it was when NSMB came out on DS and Wii.
Probably they don't want to be confused with other games.
Btw I feel like a Direct is coming before the D1 of NSMBU, around 3-4th january.
You know that wouldn't push Switch hardware sales much, if at all, right
Yeah I feel like they should just call it super Mario bros Switch lol.
Where are you seeing this? It's sold out everywhere
No actually, he had many chances to clarify his stance, and he ended up absolutely doubling down on 8 million shipped worldwide for the whole year.
"Anecdotally" typically indicates nothing. Just a store or two with delayed delivery or something like that, most likelyAre you sure? I checked a bunch of online retailers (In the UK) and its in stock on every website.
Where are you seeing it as out of stock?
Yeah I feel like they should just call it super Mario bros Switch lol.
Exactly. It's literally his job to be a positive PR person. If he had casually dropped the bomb that the company might miss their goals in a interview like that he would have been in huge trouble if not fired.Seriously. I dunno, I feel like they want to make crystal clear that this is a WiiU port with that title, which might indicate that they are going to be bringing a new 2d Mario to Switch, maybe in the next two years or so.Yeah I feel like they should just call it super Mario bros Switch lol.
2D mario is a better fit. This leaves SMO to sell to the 3D Mario crowd. but i am so turned off by NSMBs aesthetic and music.Should've dropped the "U" - such a fuckin' weird and kinda gross title.
Also they should've done a 3D World port instead. Yeet.
yeah lol. metroid prime was never a huge hit and a trilogy re-release won't convince many that haven't bought in yet.
I see them all over and in tons of stores and I am in canada as well.

Obviously if the Switch was sold out right now there would be no way it would reach 20 mil as this is the most important time to make sure there is plenty of stock.
From the NPD thread it looks like stock is much higher than the stock for PS4 which would make sense as to get near it's target the Switch should be doing double what PS4 does in December or somewhere around that.
according to this link, the Switch stock is like 8x the one for PS4
The Switch is in stock at Amazon and every Gamestop, Walmart, and Best Buy near me
Not a good post on your part.
Alright folks, got it lol. I am going by what I saw on Sunday, a friend and I were trying to find them one because they wanted to jump on and get it for Smash, and we went to several stores and they were out.
