My permadeath setting is off but an operator I had died. He just died and is gone. Never went to the hospital and healed. Idk what's going on.

Finally got it up since December on my Series X and it sounds like blown out speakers.

And gameplay had constant audio problems too. Uh?

I'm actually really enjoying the game. I just beat the Albion mission arc and it might actually be my favorite Watch Dogs game out of the series. It's definitely better than 2 (for me) but not quite sure if I like it more than 1...maybe about equal for me. Haven't had a chance to try online yet.

Definitely play with it on. The game is designed around it.

Basically, you will be recruiting a ton of different characters with different abilities. You can ask any NPC in the world to join you, and have to do a small mission to get them on board. If you start running low on people on your team, you will need to go out and recruit a few more.

The only thing you really need to watch out for is being down to one person and losing them. As a general rule, if you are down to two-three people left, go out and rectuit a few more to create a cushion. But if you keep up on recruiting you'll be fine.

This is mostly staying on the beaten path. I did spend some time getting new operatives but other than that it was pretty much just the main story missions. Overall I enjoyed it and think it's on par with Watch Dogs 1 and better than 2. I know many said that you lose that "personal narrative" with the whole operative aspect but I didn't mind it as I found bringing in new people enjoyable. Also I didn't really find the narratives that strong in the previous games so I don't think it was a big loss. I definitely plan on coming back and trying out some of the side content as well as Bloodline when it eventually releases.

I dropped off this pretty much straight away when it came out due to the constant crashes on One S, and then the inability to save on Series X, by the time that was fixed I was playing Cyberpunk and wasn't in the mood to jump in to another dystopian cyberpunk-ish future city.

When Watch Dogs 2 got the 60fps update I tried that again (I dropped that after 5-6 hours a few years ago, not sure why). I really enjoyed it on the second attempt and finished it last week, it gave me the urge to try Legion again.

Coming back to Legion from Watch Dogs 2, I think I'm more underwhelmed than I was the first time. It feels devoid of any of the personality that 2 has. The lack of a singular protagonist and the recruits not having much of any personality (with voices and looks that frequently don't fit) doesn't help, but it's much more beyond that. The supporting characters are all bland, It feels like there's far less variety in what the NPCs can be doing around London, and the soundtrack isn't a patch on 2's

Then the city of London itself. It's dirty, gloomy, grubby and not at all pleasant to travel around (I know, that's London). There's way less variety to the locations and all the residents seem like miserable aggressive arseholes (I know, I know; London). I get they're going for a dystopian future with rubbish and graffiti everywhere to an exaggerated level but it just makes the world not much fun to spend time in, especially compared to WD2's sunny, chilled San Francisco.

Graphics are pretty nice, as is most of the ray tracing, but there's sometimes there's wet or shiny floors that look like you're walking/driving on a polished mirror that look ridiculous.

The above wouldn't be too bad if the missions and gameplay were at least on par with the 2nd one but it feels like a huge step backwards in that regard too. The cargo drone is way too OP allowing you to essentially bypass a lot of missions by flying to the top of buildings it seems were designed for you to infiltrate and dropping a spider drown down. I did a mission yesterday where I had to sneak through a Blume building to a lift but there's a locked exit door you can't hack from the outside next to it for you to make an escape at the end of the mission. I went straight there because that's where the map marker was and a bad guy walked out the door allowing me to run through and bypass it all. WD2 made me feel like I was figuring out one of many ways to use my gadgets to get the job done (almost like a basic version of Hitman), Legion just makes me feel like I'm cheesing a badly designed level every time.

I also don't get why they took away the phone features from WD2. Songsneak, The ability to play music while walking around, Cars on Demand, ScoutX locations to take pictures, The Uber type mini game app.

I'll probably stick with it for now, but it's by far the weakest of the three for me so far.

Yeah I went to look at the official twitter to see if they posted any links there and someone in the comments mentioned going to the webstore. Real dumb you have to do that but hey at least Its queued now.

So the invasions form the first game are only coming in late May? Are they referring to an implementation while you are playing the campaign or is it just a special mode? In any case these should have been part of the launch version.

The 'Belly of the Beast' mission takes a fun concept and makes it very boring, when you destroy a mini-drone and have to fly that long-ass gauntlet again.

I've just finished the game, my thoughts on the arcs/villains:

  1. Dick Malick. Not bad; an imperial, fascist spook. Weak that you didn't kill him in the end though.
  2. Nigel Cass. Lame, all the way through.
  3. Mary Kelly. Unrealized potential of real issues like human trafficking, modern slavery, abuse of migrants, the failure of the justice system, etc. Stuck the landing okay at least by having the inspector let her get murdered knowing the justice system wasn't going to deal with her.
  4. Zero Day. Fucking terrible and predictable. My SO saw who they really were from a mile away. I originally thought they were going to be a rogue AI or something and this is somehow worse.
  5. Skye Larsen. Shockingly harrowing and a solid SciFi story. She's an effective terrifying psychopath and her story far outshone the rest of the main story; similar to how the Bloody Baron plot outshone the main Witcher 3 content.

Dysfunction - A pair of mysterious Clan Kelley hackers, known only as the Cousins, have laid London's court systems low in a DDoS attack, demanding as ransom the dismissal of all cases against Kelley family members.
  • Hotspot UI update
Added a timer to the Hotspots tooltip on the map.
  • Low mobility Operatives' influence cost has been reduced in comparison to characters with the same skillset but without the trait.
  • Player waypoints and fast travel
Players will now be able to set waypoints on other players.

Developer comment:
With TU4.0 we're making changes for Online XP gain and Influence rewards by increasing the number of daily and weekly challenges available to players while reducing earnable XP from repeatable activities. Players have been great at optimizing the strategies for these activities and they were becoming slightly too rewarding and felt like the only valuable way to gain XP but also became quite a repetitive chore for some players. We hope that the increase of challenges, players will now have 30 different Daily challenges, and slight reduction in XP for repeatable activities will give players a more balanced way to rank up with better variety in their gameplay. Additionally, we wanted players to have a more reliable source of Influence outside of the rank track, to reduce the downtime between gaining Influence and therefore new Operatives. This will be particularly impactful for players at max rank.

Overall, everybody will have access to more daily and weekly challenges which means most players will see a slight increase in XP gain, while those that previously rushed through assignments or co-op missions will see a decrease in XP gain if they were to continue that playstyle. Influence gain should now feel better once you reached max rank when comparing it to before the update.

is there something off with the lighting in the ps5 version? playing on an oled and the game constantly switches brightness when driving through the city (only daytime). the image becomes slightly darker and bright again, every few seconds. also happens when hdr is turned off.

Yeah the lighting has been like that since launch.

I thought it was fixed when playing in 60 fps mode?

Should I buy this on ps5 for $20?

If you enjoy Ubisoft open world games, I'd say go for it.

The game is a competent open world game with some fun ideas but don't go looking for anything groundbreaking. If you enjoy it for what it is and have your expectations tempered, you should be fine.

I'm a Watch Dogs fan, having played the other two games multiple times, and I enjoyed it. I personally haven't beaten the game as I'm waiting for the Bloodlines DLC to drop because as much as the 'recruit any character' model is fun, I need more of a central character to latch on to. I actually liked Aiden from the original game and want to go through the story from beginning to end as him.

Overall, the game is fun but very "Ubisoft", so if you're okay with that, I think $20 is more than enough and they recently released their 2021 roadmap, so you have plenty of side content that will be available should you want to invest in.
