I always joked about I love having kids because I get to claim them on my tax return. Now I'll love them even more!!!

The Covid stimulus payments have really went a long way in changing people's perception of welfare I think.

Yep, even in lower cost of living areas child care is extremely expensive, especially when you have multiple kids in daycare.
My wife and I both work and take advantage of dependent care FSAs, but as a married couple that only allows us to shelter 5k a year. It would be nice to see that limit raised as well to keep pace with the times.
If your baby was born anytime in 2020 you can claim them for the 2020 tax year.

This seems kind of big. Couple stuff like this with parental leave and other related things, having a child becomes much less of a hassle.

Dude! That's awesome. That would be a huge help to lower to middle income families who are struggling to make ends meet.
Between this and potential studio loan debt relief, my entire financial outlook is changing drastically. My wife lost work because of Covid but my job stayed. We definitely took a hit and I'm happy to see the government helping us.

hmmm, I have my first child coming in June, would I be eligible for this? I am not eligible for the standard stimulus due to how much I make.
