For everyone who watched Space Jam, it introduced us to Lola Bunny and well....

Someone at WB was thirsty and I'm not sure who they were targeting when they made her but due to her design, I'm certain this contributed to the popularity of the furry movement and was possibly the first awakening of furrries

there are so many decades you seem to have missed, if Lola was the "first" you ever noticed.

User Banned (3 Days): Inflammatory generalizations
If it was a human With a some bunny aspects I'd understand. Yet, she's a full on rabbit with boobs. The fuck is wrong with furries?
Do furries think Zootopia is a porno?
Ewwwwwwwww
Edit: also I've never seen space jam

Nah, I'm pretty sure it started with Disney's Robin Hood.

I am currently inebriated and this thread is thus extra skincrawlingly creppy, GOD

Furry fandom by that name got started in the late 80s. While it's common to see people say it must have been due to some specific movie, like Disney's Robin Hood, if I recall it wasn't due to any one piece of media. It came out of the independent comics scene of the 80s.

There weren't a lot of anthro animal comics outside of Cerebus, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, making it a genre indie comic creators could exploit to stand out from the norm. The first weekend conventions in California were largely swapmeets for people making small print run comics.

ATTN: Young people thae stuff you consume most likely wasn't the first, and has some relation to something in the past.

Aye, '98 babies stand up.

That aside, Lola & Rouge is probably what piqued young me's interest. But there's so much media before our time so whose to say. Like uh, Talespin and all the people that were into Goofy for some reason lol.

Oh! You're definitely missing Renamon from Digimon lol. And yeah Zootopia definitely hit different for the young cats lol.

No, the start of the Furry Fandom is probably Disney's Robin Hood which came out in 1973

In anime you got Tezuka getting pretty pervy with Bagi

Not to mention the furry porn Tezuka made that they found after he died.
