Every time this, and also Blue Dragon, goes on sale people post about it. Read the room Microsoft and make remaster and/or sequels.
Incredible battle theme. No full party until 70% of the way through. More linear for most of the game than a lot of Visual Novels.
You don't even control your party in XIII, and the one character you do control can just be put on auto 90% of the time. You don't even get all your party members till the shit's nearly over.
It's insane that Microsoft hasn't remastered this game yet

There's nothing...particularly wrong about that post though. The biggest criticism about LO is that it feels like someone took FF IV's battle system and just messed with the names a little.
When FF XIII finally gets going at the end it's a lot more...dynamic than that.
Me when thinking about old ass 360 games digitally when they go on crazy sale a few years ago. "Hey I can skip lunch and get a game I never finished/played/don't wanna bring the discs out for, score"
Same scenario in 2022 "Hey I can skip...like a gallon and a bit of gas and get 2+ games!"
The room is very small it seems like when even companies like capcom are not releasing collections on xbox it sucks but seems like they are not selling.
How are the load times on the backwards compatible version of Lost Odyssey, anyway? I remember the loads being one of the worst things about that game.
Near non existent on a Series X from what I remember of the various BC videos back in the day.
You pretty much summed it up. Also the two kids sounded like Phil and Lill from Rugrats.
I actually think both FF13 and Lost Odyssey are very good, and of similar quality overall.
EDIT: Specifically FF13 has slightly better soundtrack and battle system (though LO is also very good in these regards), but FF13 has more lows and the story never connects on an emotional level unlike Lost Odyssey's dreams.

It's someone that beat it just by using "auto battle" or whatever the command was and just switching the jobs.
I dunno... getting bored halfway through sounds better than being bored from the start.
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, FF13 trilogy… any other X360(or XOne)-era JRPGs I should be adding to the list?
Why dont we have Lost Odyssey 2 yet is the real question we should be asking. Lost Odyssey will always remain an amazing game forever to me as it was one of the only games that had me bawling by the end of it. The entire game is also really sad too.
Probably for people like me who glanced at the image, said "I don't understand", opened the spoiler, went back to the tweet and said "ah, now I understand."
If that's what you think the combat in FFXIII is then you haven't played it.
