I'm interested in seeing if these endorsements will actually move the needle in favor of Bernie.
My guess is that they won't.
My guess is that they won't.
One question I had for a long time because while I love reading about US politics, I'm from Brazil so I'm not talking daily with people about it like you guys are:
Why a large part of progressives don't like Bernie Sanders? It seems so weird to me because he obviously has the most progressive views of all the candidates, even Warren. I do understand that having a woman as president is really big and I'm sure Warren would make a great presidente, but it seems that Sanders has better plans for everything, specially healthcare.

The liberals on ERA make me laugh. They'll attack progressives like Bernie about his fucking hair, but then be SHOCKED for progressives calling out actual Liberal bullshit (endorsing war criminals, incrementalism, supporting endless wars) and scream at you for not being in line with the Democratic Party.
Liberals, let me fill you in on what's happening:
progressives aren't looking to fall in line with the establishment corporate democrats - this is party takeover. You're done. We are taking the party and "your" ungodly amount of wealth back. You might want to turn to your true ally in this fight - wealthy conservatives. You seem to have a shared interest in protecting and growing your wealth at any human cost.
They suddenly "never really liked her anyway" lolBut PoliEra told me that AOC would never endorse Bernie. pikachushock.png

In the US politics often comes down to a cult of personality rather than policy. "Who I'd like to sit down and have a beer with." Bernie is an ideologue and a bit of a blowhard. And he's an old white man. The result is that you get posters dragging their asses through these topics, with takes as bad as "I'm a socialist but I don't like Bernie and I won't vote for him in the primary despite him being the only self-described socialist running."
Personally I'd rather have a 35 year old women of color than Bernie. If AOC was running I'd vote for her over him. But he remains the best candidate from a politics standpoint, so I'll continue to support him.
Bruh, how can any socialist write this without any irony? In the US politics often comes down to a cult of personality rather than policy. "Who I'd like to sit down and have a beer with." Except for that 4th Destiny's Child member. A footnote in history books.I'd say they won't. But this is still an important development for the history of progressive, socialistic politics as a cohesive movement in the US.
From my perspective, and maybe I'm wrong here, there's basically no difference between Warren and Bernie from a policy perspective, they want the same thins, so it would normally be strange for me to see a poster like Drek go in on Bernie if I wasn't already aware that he's been doing this since '16.
How can you go out and trash white Blue collar workers the way this fool did, especially when Warren brings them up as much as fucking Bernie? Trash is your reductive reasoning homie, get a fucking grip. You're shitting on white workers the same way management shits on minorities, especially illegal minorities.
I mean are you serious with "work ethic" being the reason immigrants have "infiltrated high productive" work areas? No, that's not the main fucking reason. It's because you're fucking white ass, along with many other white asses, don't give a fuck about paying an illegal immigrant a fair fucking wage. You'd rather use fear/intimidation, pay crap wages, to get these folks to do this hard fucking work for you, because they're desperately trying to put food on the motherfucking table.
Points out a big problem with US politics and then proceeds to contribute to said problem.
Liberals in a nutshell.
OMG this is stripped right out of the mouths of some that postershere. The funny part is every fucking canidates has a weird cult following, the reason I stay away from twitter is becasue of the obvious divisive language and weird obsessed people, but I can't even escape that shit here.
Yeah, not talking about people on the right.Out of curiosity, who are you referring to? Because pretty much everyone on the right with any kind of public voice has already been screaming about her.
And she handles it masterfully. :)
Bernie would be the first Jewish president though, you can't just erase that.
Which posters have said this?Liberals in this thread: "But what about my inheritance that is built on the genocide of people and majestic sea animals?!"
Bernie would be the first Jewish president though, you can't just erase that.
Making up a reality to mock people who don't believe the exact same things I do is the schtick here.
That's exactly why I post it! I'm so confused.
That I completely understand.Because he is not a Democrat. People here on this board have literally said that as if it's a strike against him. These type of folks despise him because he ran against Hillary in 2016
For others, it's because he can be iffy on race issues, which is completely understandable, and gun reform.
Yeah, I agree. And Bernie supporters really have the power to push people away, sometimes.Personality plays a large part in decisions about politicians. Policy combined with personality. Also, the belief that Warren would be able to get more done. Either way, neither's healthcare plan will come about.
I understand that, but people here dragging Bernie are Warren supporters, not Biden. Warren does have many faults, but she is not Biden or Hillary, she is a progressive. That's why I was so confused.Liberals care about their wealth. They wear a mask of equality, but they do not want equality at the cost of their wealth and power.
Progressives are just average people who are tired of the corruption, greed, endless wars, invasions, and occupations of other countries.
Just search "AOC Warren why" on Twitter and behold the long string of Twitter users crying that "it makes more sense" (lol) for AOC to endorse Warren, and that they're "done" with herJust as we've seen zero people attacking AOC for endorsing Sanders lol.
But when does that stop anybody from Twitter sensationalism?
Exactly. But they'll try.Bernie would be the first Jewish president though, you can't just erase that.

People were concerning about Sanders age long before he had a heart attack, long long before, which pretty much anyone in the race could have had at their ages. And the response to someone having a heart attack isnt "this old fart is failing in his campaign anyway".
Dont deflect from the core point.
Ah, gotcha gotcha.
Exactly. But they'll try.
The same folks shouting "it's time for a woman in the white house!" while simultaneously not giving a shit about their policy stances, sure are quick to erase and downplay Women and POC supporting Sanders as well.

Meh. People who were never going to vote for Bernie are still out here concern trolling and gaslighting reasonable people a out Sander's age and health. He👏just👏had👏a👏heart👏attack
That is a legitimate health risk whether you want to keep your head in the clouds or not.
Bernie's not getting the nomination. Dems need to get behind one person and come out swinging next year, and the old white guys a whisper away from dementia/death aren't going to cut it.

A lot of these types also showed up for John McCain. These same types defended Nate Silver's closer racist "residue" tweet. A lot of these same folks cry about how "progressive" they are, and then defend Moderates like Pelosi and Clinton, and even JOE FUCKING MANCHIN.at the risk of repeating myself, the Venn diagram of liberals who say things like "these racist, sexist brocialists are only supporting Bernie/criticizing Pelosi/etc. because they don't care about minorities," and liberals who were silent about or outright supported smearing a black Muslim woman as an antisemite because she dared to criticize the lobby for an apartheid state, is a near-perfect circle and it reveals so much
