New Yawk City!
The more interesting question is: even if we avoid a Double-Down Weimar in 2020, will American discourse retreat from white-and-black thinking like this?

Something tells me the answer is going to be no in at least some parts of our society: Trump's election, for a lot of people, will be a formative moment in their politics. The whole "vote him out and it'll be normal again" axiom will be severely tested in 2021.

He told WTVM that "you should not be able to come into a building and feel like you are hated" and the outlet reported he had complained to the city council.
Translation: I should not be hated for being a nazi/racist.

If you are racist/nazi, everybody should be hating you, including yourself.

Coming from the church.. an institution that profits off of mental illness and delusion..

Well, whatever it takes to cleanse us of the bigger piece or shit at the moment.

I agree with the sentiment but i'm not down with equating stupidity and selfishness with mental illness.

Please stop with the constant demonization of people who suffer actual mental issues.

As WTVM interviewed Jordan, a couple of bystanders argued with the pastor, including Daxton Kirk, a white Trump supporter who filmed the confrontation on his phone. He told WTVM that "you should not be able to come into a building and feel like you are hated" and the outlet reported he had complained to the city council.
These people really have absolutely zero self-awareness.

Imagine merely existing in this entire country and feeling you are hated.

Yeah. That's a thing for the minorities you jeopardized by voting for Trump. Get fucked, snowflake.

That dickbag can get my sympathy the moment I don't have to worry about any of my friends going into a public space and preparing for getting fucking shot at.

The church has put up quite a few different signs up over the years, including some..not great material, though maybe the Pastor has changed since 2004 when he put up the bottom right one.

That quote was the standout for me, too. And you're right.

Ehh I don't like using mental illness but it is cognitive dissonance.

Prolonged cognitive dissonance is a psychological disorder, though, so... I mean... I agree with you in principle, but it's SO close to being correct the way it was originally stated.

Well, the thing is, depending on the subject, this preacher isn't exactly on the same page as you. People's Exhibit A in the bottom right:

Does this break the world record for World's Fastest Milkshake Duck?

That last one....yikes.

Fair play on this one. Not the language I would use on the former, but voting for Trump for most is an act of self harm. Of course, there are very wealthy black people who may benefit from some of Trump's tax stances...so there is that.

That quote was the standout for me, too. And you're right.

Yeah that last message is pretty abhorrent, hopefully he has changed his opinion on that. a few of the other messages are on point though.

Fuck that. Call it wrong or whatever but don't trivialize mental illness.

Hating Trump shouldn't justify this kind of crap.
