Are they nullified?
Is MS paying fine for voiding ?
Technically they now own these games.

What a clusterfuck lmao.

Nothing, you can't just throw out established contracts. Folks need to stop thinking in console war terms

Nothings changes i'd imagine, but stuff with no platform announced yet like Starfield is probably exclusive now depending on how close they were to finishing it.

Still in place. Just like the commitments to release on Playstation for stuff like Wasteland 3, although that's a slightly difference case.

Why isn't Sunset Overdrive on PS4?

(Well, besides a potential lack of interest in porting.)

Because Microsoft likely still have exclusive publishing rights for some time. Just like they did with Alan Wake, which they never owned, but was like a 10-year contract. Deals don't just disappear with an acquisition.

MS is good about putting already announced products out the way the devs/pub said they would do it. Think same will apply here.

Still in place, unless there was specifically a clause that would nullify the agreement if one of the parties were to be acquired.

Nobody knows the terms of the their deal. It is very possible there is a clause in the case of a sale. Everyone saying otherwise is just speculating.

I wonder if Deathloop was delayed because Microsoft will buyout the contracts and have both games be day and date now on both consoles.

So will this be the first time one of the big three will release a console exclusive...for a console of the other party? Because thats honestly pretty funny to me :)

Nothing happens? Contracts will probably continue as-is for now. It's future games which may become Xbox/PC exclusive.

They will honor the contract and after the timed exclusivity deal is over, they will launch day one on XBOX.

My guess is nothing. They will still honor the agreements and this is a longer play. They will now release "free" with game pass when exclusivity is up though.

The only actual thing is, assuming this is a long term contract (like 10 years publishing rights for the deathloop IP), we're incredibly unlikely to see a sequel anytime soon.

Generally speaking nothing changes with stuff already in progress that I've seen.

Nothing. The deal between Bethesda and Sony remains intact.

Depends on the terms of the agreements (for the games). This is not the type of project you'd include a clause that would allow voiding on acquisition though lol, it would be absurd

We've seen how this plays out multiple times now. Microsoft has acquired multiple studios when they're halfway through making games for other consoles and they've always continued to release them for all previously announed platforms. Outer Worlds, Wasteland 3, Psychonauts 2 etc. They honour the contracts and announced platforms because that is what you have to do.

XGS acquired InXile a long time before Wasteland 3 released. The game came out with zero XGS branding, still published by Deep Silver.

What a clusterfuck lmao.

This is only a clusterfuck if you haven't been paying attention.

It all depends on the contract. someone brought up there could be clauses if there are acquisitions but who knows.
This statement from Todd Howard makes it sound like Bethesda games are staying Multiplatform:
yeah. We might just see some timed exclusivity but there is no way they arent selling on all platforms. paying 7.5 billion says that. To recoup that investment they would need a ton of software to move.
