Terrible news for Canadians, Vizio is no longer selling products in Canada.

looks like rtings is reviewing the quantum x right now, and the oleds are winning the vote for the next tv to be purchased+tested.
haven't seen anything from hdtv test yet, though I don't really know where to find that info. EvilBoris can maybe give an indication?
thanks for the infoI don't think Vincent typically gets things from Vizio as he is based in the UK and Vizio don't exist in Europe.
They might fly him over, but COVID has meant a lot of those review events haven't gone ahead.
Something to do with the cost of transportation to Canada with not enough units sold I think

$2000 is unreal, are these expected to drop in price over the coming couple years as the tech becomes more ubiquitous or is this always going to be enthusiast territory?
Yea, it also seems to be very early for HDMI 2.1 features, so these should be patched over time.I read the review. It looks like a good TV, but the bugs affecting the VRR does not sound good. Hopefully Vizio puts out a firmware update to fix the problem.
Would you take the vizio over a Samsung 80T? At 75 inches, the 80t is ~$700 more. The 90t is even crazier increase.Assuming the VRR gets fixed, my new TV will be either this or the Samsung Q90T.
I only use my PC with my TV, and there's no way I can babysit all of the static elements of the PC on an OLED set. Especially with my wife and kids that wouldn't understand.
That red tint issue looks pretty bad imo. That gray uniformity screen is fucking grossrtings review for the Vizio P Quantum X (LED) tvs are up... reading through it now https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/vizio/p-series-quantum-x-2020

I was feeling a bit low early on about going with the TCL over this but the rtings score isn't that different and the price difference on the 55" set is so large.
After reading through the review I'm content I went TCL but this sounds like a quality tv if you have the extra $650 to spend on a 55".
I think the fact that my R635 doesn't seem to have the bloom or banding problems the rtings set had puts it about on par with the Vizio for me. Although I'd love the extra nits the Vizio has. I'd also certainly consider picking one up from the 120z standpoint as well

The R635. So far I love it. It's my second TCL set and it's head and shoulders above the P607 I had previously. The motion interpolation is a little wonky at first (verrrrry slight soap opera effect) but I didn't notice it after a night or two (black bar insertion setting helped too). The blacks are inky as hell, the contrast is great. Fantastic implementation of HDR with super high nits, although not as high as the Vizio. Pound for pound it's the best mid budget UHD tv around. I much prefer it's upsides to the Hisense. It can also handle 120hz like the Vizio but unfortunately only at 1440pWhich TCL did you go with? I'm looking to get a solid 55" in the very near future. TCL as a brand has definitely caught my eye.
I can deal with the lack of brightness and I'm used to Smartcast wonkiness. This looks like a great budget OLED.Not really a a great review (in terms of quality of a the review itself), but they like it: https://www.reviewed.com/televisions/content/vizio-oled-oled55-h1-tv-review

He had to get it shipped across (and pay an obscene amount to do so lol)

No way a new 65" OLED is going to be $1000 in 3 years lol. Maybe $1500.Looks like Vizio did a good job with their first Oled. $2k is still a bit steep but finally within range for the middle class.
I imagine that in 3 years, a 65" Oled can be had for $1000.

Oh, okay. In that case yes I'd agree!
I have the 2016 p series. Besides requesting a traditional remote be sent, I haven't had to deal with support as I haven't had any issues. Support sent the remote without issue. I'll be getting the 65oled for sureAny long term owners of Vizio's high end TVs in here? I'd like to know how good their support is. My 2015 M80 had some backlights go out and I got it replaced through squaretrade, so never dealt with Vizio directly.
Honestly, Vizio has a pretty poor reputation from a hardware reliability standpoint. What I CAN say though, is about 6-7 years ago I had one of their 75" sets die on me almost a year outside of warranty, and they sent me a brand new replacement, no questions asked. So that was great, but I don't know if that's the norm or if I just got really lucky.Any long term owners of Vizio's high end TVs in here? I'd like to know how good their support is.
