Looks like there was a change to Dies irae for the steam release +R18:
Greetings Backers,

We are now into 2018 and all of us here at the Dies irae World Emanation Project want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! With all of our backers in our hearts, we look forward to doing our utmost to see the project through and making this year a good one for all of our backers.

This update concerns a change to the "Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~" R18 patch route clear prerequisite.

"Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~" on Steam has now been updated so that backers who have both DLCs (listed below; backers whose rewards include the digital version should already have been sent keys for the DLCs) , can play "Dies irae ~Acta est Fabula~" without having to clear a route first.

To play "Dies irae ~Acta est Fabula~", you will first need to start up "Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~" once. The prologue comes up first, but you can quit once the game is fully loaded.

We hope you will take advantage of the change to enjoy the experience.

"Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~" DLC on Steam

1. Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~ Act I: Omnia Vincit Amor (Kasumi & Marie scenario)

2. Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~ Act II: Nihil Difficile Amanti (Kei & Rea scenario)

As we continue to make progress, we will have further updates here on Kickstarter. While there are elements of the project that may not be in line with all backers' expectations, we humbly ask for your support to the end.

Started Subahibi, it was pretty interesting for 30 minutes but then it became Fate/Stay Kitchen.

I should go back to Looking Glass Insects...

honestly after the talking desk and that rape scene I'm not sure if I have it in me to continue because so much of this is over my head

Fucking finally. I really hope we won't have to wait as long for the next chapter...
Chapters 7 and 8 are all "in testing" as well (i.e. out of TL & editing) so I don't think it'll take as long.

It's pretty obvious by now that Tsumihoroboshi won't release in January, which pits our wait for this at... nine months already.

Finished the first chapter of Subahibi, kinda predictable to be honest. I guessed the main twist pretty early.

I love that people say Fate/stay kitchen so much that they make an anime about it.

I asked for more physical copies... They only really have them for H-titles. Needs more variety. (I still need to get Umineko off their site...)

Subahibi CH1 (The one after the prologue)

I managed to figure how Takuji was tricking everyone (It's not particularly hard once you take all the "magic" away, as Yuki says), but I'm not really sure of what's happening, story-wise. It doesn't strike me as sci-fi type of story, it looks like the characters are stuck in some kind of limbo or at least several people's memories are messed up.

I think the twins are definitely not real at least, I'm on CH2 and they didn't appear until the novel switch to Takuji's Eroge mode.

Well, speculations aside, I'm enjoying it. Though at times the characters feel less like characters are more like mouthpieces for the author's ideals/rants.

I have to take a break from my Fate/stay night playthrough. After Mahōtsuk I need more time to get ready for another round of gibberish exposition dump.

Started Baldr Sky Dive. The opening instantly reminds me of Muv-luv.

Oh believe me, I am not taking their promise for getting it into my hands as 100% happening. I am not very familiar with the technical aspects of any of this, but just about every update about the 18+ patch/update/version/release/whatever it actually is and now the 4:3 ratio just makes it seem like they are making all of this more complicated than it needs to be. Or that they should have not called these things patches/updates but different versions in the first place.

Anyone played the PS4/PSV Utawarerumono games?
Is it okay to start them without playing the PC original? Or are they better after playing the PC game first?

They're phenomenal games made better with knowledge of the first game.
You could watch the anime adaptation which is available to stream on Funi or to buy on Amazon. It's alright.
They're remaking it soon though and I'd be willing to bet it will be localized. So if you're willing to wait like a year or so...

If you don't want to play the PC original, at least watch the anime adaptation of that game. The anime is also pretty good and almost essential to get most stuff that happens late game.

I'm actually really surprised with the Vita list! I also feel like not often do we get the best seller list for a combination of digital and physical. Surprised (and glad!) that Uta did so well! Also real surprised that Fate was no. 1. The fanbase in the west has certainly grown. (Can we have Stay/Night now plz?)

Four out of ten titles are visual novels, the system truly is the home to the genre after PC.

Subahibi chapter 2

This was uuuuhhh, really some disturbing and weird scenes, that honestly started to overstay their welcome after one point. They stopped being interesting and just became boring.

At this point I'm convinced the twins and Yuuki definitely don't exist. Given how the games references Jung quite a few times, I think most characters represent an aspect of Takuji's fractured psyche. This assuming he's actually the main "persona".

I'm not sure how to fit Yuki into this, but Takuji had a brother and I'm 100% convinced he's the missing connection. I just don't understand how she's hallucinating the twins too.

Zakuro and Kimika seem to be at least real.

I'm currently playing through Butterfly Soup and I can't stop grinning. It's seriously fantastic so far.

I just have one problem with it. One of the characters makes an explicit Zero Escape reference, but Butterfly Soup is set in 2008 and 999 didn't come out until 2009. Literally unplayable.

Subahibi chapter 3

Yeah, this is even more obvious now, except it looks like even Yuki is a personality of Takuji. I guess his behavior is a result of his abusive mother and other stuff hidden in the backstory that I can't quite grasp. Yuuki was definitely born as a defense mechanism after the rape.

I'm finding it pretty interesting and I want to know how it's going to end, but it's really a weird game. There are some pretty fucked up stuff and weirdly place sex scenes that make me hard to take it seriously at times, it really feels like it's trying too hard.

Subahibi CH4/ Looking-Glass Insects

This felt kinda pointless, it started pretty interesting and yeah I understand Zakuro is a central character, but I got bored midway. It feels like it mostly exists to clear up stuff in the plot. The bullying segments really went on for too long and were too heavy handed, especially if you combine the two routes (Kimika + Normal endings). And honestly all those porny CGs make me question how much of this stuff was meant to be fucked up and how much it's just there to give otaku fap fuel. Yeah, I know it's an eroge at the end of the day, but still.

I have no idea who Ayana is. Everything but her can be explained with the characters being delusional. Perhaps God really exists in Subahibi's universe or even the setting itself is in someone's mind.

I'm probably LTTP with this but finally got around Chaos Child... and man this game is graphic...

Really digging the story though. I like the references it makes to previous science adv titles, and characters are solid.

I finished Muv-Luv Alternative yesterday. That was some ride!

For those who have finished it:
I thought that defeating the original hive would be a more decisive victory than what it was. Was the only effect that the Beta lost the ability to "adapt"? Seems like it could go either way for humanity in that timeline...

I really liked it though although it was so long that I think I'll play some different games now before tackling another VN. When the time comes, any recommendations for similar VNs?

Finished Chaos Child.... What a brilliant game.

Hands down the best science adv title I've played till now.

And I hope Takuru gets out and lives happy life after all the shit he went through T.T

In terms of similarity to Muv-luv, Baldr Sky Dive is definitely on the top of the list. I heard someone is already working on a translation.

Oh, hah, I didn't realize that. A friend pointed out a few other references would be a couple years too early but that one would have been on me to catch.

I also couldn't stop grinning the whole time (barring the bits it gets more serious); laughed out loud a ton too.

Sorry for the double post, and I'm hesitant to fully believe this is it, but uhhh...

Fata Morgana on consoles might be actually happening?

Douglas called the game a vita exclusive in a tweet a few hours ago. It's coming to ps4/vita now with plans for switch.

Enough for me. I'll be in the H A P P E N I N G bunker

For me it doesn't beat Steins;Gate but it's pretty damn close. Loved the ending scene. Even though it was kinda simple it had an enormous emotional impact on me.

I think the normal end of Chaos Child affected me more than the true end. True end gave me a "that's it?" feeling. With Steins;gate, it was the exact opposite.
