Just imagine if you play as Eggman as the main protagonist of the Sonic series, and this DBZ-like woodland creature that is able to transcend the speed of sound and destroy your entire hyper-advanced starship fleet in a matter of minutes is the main villain:

Just imagine. No matter how men you send he just keeps on cutting through them like a hot knife through butter. Your powerful and feared army growing smaller by the minute on a scale not even the US military can match.

And when you finally come face to face with him, he chastises you about being mean to your subordinates and taking things too far.

Souls games, You basically a god, using every last remaining strand of your essence to hold your kingdom together.
And this gnat keeps coming at you, over and over again, no matter how many times you stomp them out of existence they come again.
Until one day, they show up, naked, holding only a wooden club and proceed to evade your every move and beat you into a bloody pulp. you never stood a chance.

I think being a dark souls boss would be pretty terrifying. Specially a sentient one like Pontiff. Knowing that you have to guard this place and stand your ground and that no matter how many times you kill this person they just come back again and again and again. Some people have died literally over a hundred times to a boss. Being on the receiving end of that and knowing that the one time you slip up will be your last must be pretty harrowing.

Ace Attorney. You're a prosecutor who keeps coming up against the same bumbling attorneys and their teen girl sidekicks. Your case always appears airtight, but through a strange mixture of genius and coincidence, your opponent keeps proving their clients innocent. The teen girl sidekick? She probably has superpowers. Your allies? Incompetent (and often corrupt) police. You have to live with the knowledge that you keep getting it wrong. Over and over. By the end of the game you've probably either taken a leave of absence for some serious soul searching or you're in prison yourself.
