Kennedy then picks her up from the table and throws her on Dodd, who is sprawled in a chair. With Gaviglio on Dodd's lap, Kennedy jumps on top and begins rubbing his genital area against hers, supporting his weight on the arms of the chair. As he is doing this, Loh enters the room. She and Gaviglio both scream, drawing one or two dishwashers. Startled, Kennedy leaps up. He laughs. Bruised, shaken and angry over what she considered a sexual assault, Gaviglio runs from the room. Kennedy, Dodd and their dates leave shortly thereafter, following a friendly argument between the senators over the check.

According to Loh, Kennedy "was sort of leaning" on Gaviglio, "not really straddling but sort of off-balance so it was like he might have accidentally fallen…He was partially on and off…pushing himself off her to get up." Dodd, she adds, "said 'It's not my fault.' " Kennedy said something similar and added, jokingly, "Makes you wonder about the leaders of this country."

The vast, vast majority of people are not going to give a shit who Biden picks to be on his Vice Presidential selection committee. People need to get outside their bubble to realize their views are not as widespread as they think.

What do you mean by "problematic economic issues"? He was involved in a sexual assault and it likely wasn't the only time according to the article.

As was said earlier, if the VP pick is garbage (and Dodd's the one who suggested him or her), then we should discuss that. If Biden selects Dodd to lead a gender equality task force, I'll go get my pitchfork and join you.

This "bitch eating crackers" syndrome that some of y'all have with Biden is getting out of hand, and some of you fail to realize this is EXACTLY what happened in 2016 with Clinton. It worked so well then, that a lot of you continue to hate her.

Well, the 2016 election is not evidence that it matters electorally, at least. Not sure why that poster thought Trump's election was evidence that punishing sexual assault is a priority for voters. Maybe you can explain how it was.

Nah, you're correct in the sense that a lot of people don't really give a damn about rape, we live in a rape culture after all. Saying that, it isn't something that should be dismissed when other people bring it up.(which I've seen happen here quite a bit)

A lot of people will be turned off. And instead of people trying to be understanding, all we have are "who cares about rape lol, didn't matter back then, doesn't matter now".

I never claimed it doesn't matter. I think it matters. And I'm understanding. I'm just not discussing my understanding with you.

What I am discussing with you was the poster's claim that the 2016 election demonstrated that the electorate prioritized punishing sexual assault, which it doesn't, because voters knowingly elected a rapist that year. If you have better data about why sexual assault elevations will have a bigger electoral impact this year, feel free to share.
