I'd be so down. Having the DualSense features in a more comfortable controller like that of the Series X? Count me in.

I mean, yes because it's cool.

But no, because that ship has sailed. Between the controller being set and actually existing, and having compatibility with Xbox One controllers (which is awesome), I feel like we'd spend $200 on some ultra-haptic-elite controller just to have 3 games that would ever support it. Save that for the Series X^2 or whatever comes next IMO.

I mean, PS5 supports it so that means most third party games will support it.

You should. I played COD and DeS and it was fucking crazy. I will most likely pick up a Series X in the future and hope they do it.

All they really need to add is a gyro and accelerometer, nothing else is really necessary for parity.

As soneone who doesnt really expect to use their platform i think it'd be great if they did this. Would really help adoption in 3rd party titles

People just want Xbox to have it so more people on ps5 can enjoy it. Because as of now outside of Astro playroom it's not really being used correctly. It doesn't feel good in immortal Phoenix rising for example and it's a distraction in COD

plus i rather no forced gyro and no haptics if it continues to mean we can use $200+ controllers we had on Xbox One.

In most cases, you should be able to turn off both if you don't want to use them. So nothing's stopping you from using your Elite controllers from the XB1.

I really hope they do it. I don't know if there's any patent there that would prevent it, but otherwise, I'd love it. It would be a blatant copy and they'll admit it, but it would only be great for support of the DualSense, specially with third party games.

they didn't ask me, but yes, they should absolutely get with the times and standardize with the others and add not only better rumble/haptics like dual sense, but gyro as well. While we're at it, a speaker, sure why not. DualSense is fucking dope.

I'd rather they just make paddles standard for their controller.

The Elite can have all the other stuff that comes with it, tightening of the sticks, trigger stops and what not, but add paddles onto base controllers.

I'd love gyro too on the controller but paddles are definitely a better option.

If the battery life doesn't take too much of a hit i would be onboard. Wonder if this means they're looking at a refresh really soon. The Elite series 2 seems like a nice investment, but the shoddy build quality is another thing i see discussed on videos and reddit.

I mean, as long as it doesn't compromise reliability or significantly increase the price, why not.

The Xbox controller offerings are pretty far behind in terms of what PlayStation is offering with a lack of gyro, adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. Seems like this is finally hitting home if they're posing these kind of questions to their customers. When you consider the DuelSense is only $10 more than the Xbox controller, it's such a good deal.

It's the only thing the dual sense has over Xbox, imo, so yes. Loved the haptics on Astro bot and Miles Morales. But holding a form fitting controller that I prefer would be even better.

They don't have to copy Sony, the only feature needed are the triggers in the back like the Elite, a cheaper scuff controller appealing to hardcore gamers.

Dualsense features seems for sporadic use.

I'd love haptic feedback to be added to the Xbox controller, and would be completely fine with gyro as long as no game forced you to use it, but I'm absolutely against adaptive triggers or any other function that accelerates wear.

Gyro would be cool to have as it would finally be in all 3 main consoles. Giving us more options even if it's taken away in mp modes

Whatever they do, just leave out the gyro nonsense. Can't stand this crap

I really dont need gyro. Haptics are welcome, but what we already have on the triggers is quite sufficient and has been for the past generation.
I'm always for improving, tho.

This is a no-brainer. The new features are really incredible and it would be great to see Xbox supporting that as well.

Dear Microsoft.

Why do you need to ask people, when you already know the DS5 features are good? Do you have no hands? Can't read reviews or watch youtube videos? Steve Jobs would probably fire you for even thinking of sending a survey...that's not how one innovates or gives consumers what they didn't know they wanted. This is accepted wisdom now. Not a radical thought.

And why are you sending a survey JUST to the people who bought an xbox ? What about all the people who bought a PS5 because it has a better controller? You know, the controller that was called by countless mainstream reviewers, including MKHD "the most next-gen thing about these consoles"?

Why didn't you innovate instead of literally resting on your laurels for a whole dang gen? I appreciated the rumble trigger in 2013. You seemed to get it.

I get that inventing adaptable triggers was a lot to ask, but HD rumble/taptics? Come on! That was a braindead easy one. It didn't require leadership, or vision, or even R&D. It's licensed tech. Did you not see Nintendo's HD rumble in 2016? You didn't think "let's make our tactile feedback better!" ?

It is unforgivable that you dropped that ball. Like...Epic levels of failure. You know it and I know it.

Will you please learn from this and undo your other mistake? Ignoring VR headsets. It is super annoying to see you make only the faintest of efforts to support other people's headsets, and essentially leave it all to HP, Valve and Sony. I thought you learned that lesson with the surface devices?

Yes today's VR headsets are wired, heavy, uncomfortable and have iffy controls. But YOU can make the future ones that have none of these issues. you can be the one to make VR actually mainstream with killer Apps and killer hardware. This is a long-term play. If your biggest gaming competitors, Sony and Valve see it, why not you? Do you think it would be BAD to research cool tech like VR?

Geeze! I shouldn't be the one convincing you, you should be the ones convincing me.

I hope you will correct your mistakes and I wish you the best,

Love,

Spider-pig

Joke post? Hard to tell around here at times.
It was gratuitous shitting on Trump, (trump level of failure = epic failure). Just in case people interpret this in some other way, I've replaced the word with Epic. Like I said in another thread, I own 3 xbox controllers, so I am invested in microsoft making them better, because their controllers are the best available on PC.

I actually have a lot some love for today's Microsoft, compared to Microsoft from 25 years ago and their horrid monopolistic practices. They give their employees great healthcare (rarer than you might think...) and. WSL2 would've been unthinkable 10 years ago.

We knew from day one the DualSense was a winner and that MS would have to copy it in the future, only question is when will they do it.

They're a mega-huge company and somehow giving health care overlooks their monopolies? Okaaaaaay...
All companies that big give great healthcare, even smaller ones do, in the US at least.

Looks like it is no longer what it was, unfortunately. It used to be 0 out of pocket cost, for anything. No premiums, no monthly payments, no deductibles or any of that nonsense created by insurances to screw unhealthy people over.

Most plans today are terrible. $50 copays for every specialist visit, $50 for every physical therapy visit, $800 a month to insure your spouse and children.

Dental plans are even worse. Absolutely appalling. often only covering half the cost, not enough preventive visits, and not even enough to cover one implant a year. I had to purchase an extra one, for $85/month, and I have to wait one year while paying this before I can use it.

For people with chronic conditions, like me, it is a relief to not be taxed for being sick. As if being sick wasn't already bad enough.

If you're used to doing Xbox Rewards surveys then this question is nothing new. They constantly survey about other platforms and their features.

I haven't used the DualSense yet so I'm honestly not sure if I want the extra features. On one hand, I'm looking forward to trying them, but on the other, I really love the Series controller the way it is.

Can't think who'd say no to extra choices?

I also like only having to pay $40 for the controller (which it is every Black Friday) so there's that. The weight/shape might also be affected.

what kind of reply is that? is good to add different options for people who want it, I just dont need gyro. Was it too difficult to comprehend?
But again, you can just as easily turn it off. If anything, a gyroscope would be the cheapest thing to include of all of these. More options are never a bad thing.

Advanced haptics would definitely be welcomed. I'm going back and forth with the triggers because so far the implementation hasn't been great and my Dualsense is showing issues of the right trigger being defective/broken but I know MS had a patent for something that would allow them to do resistive triggers.

I can't imagine adding a gyro would be that expensive/difficult and would open up some more options which is always good. I'd probably turn it off myself but I don't think there's any issue with adding an IMU and was surprised they didn't with the Series revision.
