Well deserved, he will be looked at even more fondly by gamers at the end of the series x gen if that is even possible.

What I do like about Phil is 1) he worked his way up from making people coffees at Microsoft when he was just 18 and now he's reporting directly to the CEO and 2) he's a real gamer and uber-nerd but with charisma and doesn't just pretend to be like people in similar positions elsewhere.
What I don't like about Phil is he says the word "frankly" repeatedly in interviews.

360 was quite successful with Don Mattrick. Actually the only xbox console I owned and was excited for was with him.

Honestly can't name a single individual in the industry who deserves it more than him, if anyone does at all.
"the last person" is a pretty serious statement if you actually mean it. Lots of truly reprehensible people that have been outed in gaming this year.
This is my thought too. I have no problems with Phil, but he's a PR person and I would love to see this going to developers or people driving change in the industry (like people championing accessibility and whatnot)

I mean in this respect, Phil is certainly driving change in the industry, possibly the most we've seen for a while. Gamepass will bring subscription options, which it's already doing, and their massive commitment to xcloud will try and bring in millions of people who otherwise wouldn't care for console games.
Factor that in with pushing and releasing a very budget conscious console and I'd say he's certainly trying to drive change in the industry.
