I wouldn't be surprised if Sony waits it out and MS is forced to spit out their best offer, then Sony adjusts their price to ensure MS is stuck with the luxury model and the weaker one either isn't winning in price or value judgment won't be worth the reduced specs.

There's no way they could undercut the pricing of the Series S. It's impossible without losing a lot of money.

"Robot" White? I don't get it, what is white about robots? I get Rose Gold or Jet Black but Robot White?

But yeah looks like Series S is confirmed.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of the "Xbox Series X|S" notation on marketing materials.

How is a next-gen SKU such an enigma this close to launch. Will XSX launch by itself? Have developers even started developing for XSS yet?

MS is waiting for Sony to announce price before they announce Series S publicly. That is their Ace in the hole and it seems Sony knows this.

If anyone still thinks Lockhart/Series S isn't a lock, then let this dissuade any doubts - MS is waiting on the announce to try and sandwich Sony into a difficult spot.

I'd say there's more pressure on Sony to name a price than Microsoft. Having all the hype leading into the next gen does have downsides.

Oh someone was actually able to purchase this controller, is Microsoft possibly releasing this in a couple days?

Ive always found the notion of a "Series S" weird because all of Microsoft's marketing and 3P's so far has, of course, been marketed as being Xbox Series X enhanced.
The X|S on the the box, when Xbox One doesn't get a distinction between One/S/X REALLY makes me think they're gunna call refer to this thing as Xbox Series XS -> Kinda like with iPhones.

The real news here is that they've decided to make the bumpers and triggers white.

Xbox isn't able to compete with Sony though, I doubt they're concerned and will announce PS5 price without any regard for Xbox strategy.

/s

But previous gen leaders announce price first, world is looking at Sony not MS at this time. Just look at all that social media metrics. MS can wait it out if need be.

I think this will be a game changer for the industry. Entry level to AAA gaming for $200-300. I can't wait!

How does the manual not have a picture of the Series S? Maybe it is a very similar form factor to the Series X?

Might do that thing where I buy a controller just to hold it in anticipation for the console, if it's available soon.

Don't judge me.

sony can't undercut xss. it's probably going to be xss $399, ps5 $499, xsx $599.

Every Xbox One controller since the Xbox One S launch has had Bluetooth.

I'm not talking about Bluetooth in talking about the ability to sync your controller to your phone and Xbox and just pressing the switch instead of resyncing the controllers everytime.

As someone who just has a dedicated controller for xcloud that is a super useful feature, I can just grab one of these instead.

Does the instructions confirm Lockheart/S will have an identical shape to X?

I wonder what is Series S now. Is it even a console?

Classic case of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. Xbox One controller was already great so I'm happy with this.

To be fair, adding a share button is a HUGE fix if you are into sharing stuff on social media like I do.

Also, I'm curious on the d-pad, the one controller is good enough for me to play 2d fighters, but it could definitely be improved, don't know if is going to get better or worse

Or as Xbox series x|s as they did on this box.

This kind of labeling does make me think they intend to support Xbox one s/x for quite a while though. Like 2-3 years.

Eventually they will drop game support to just xbox series x|s, and mention Xbox series x enhanced. Just like they have been doing for the one x.
