I'm fairly sure the HDD isn't the bottleneck on the PS4. Most people assumed it was the shitty CDN they were using, but I guess there could also be a CPU benefit of unpacking the game while it downloads. Why wouldn't they be? It's a faster hard drive it's downloading to.
Same. With gigabit internet, they is a godsend.
PS4 download even via hardwired connections were awful for me.
Xb1 has a cap on download speeds, presumably the PS4 too, the cpu's and hdd's of those boxes are not really designed to handle ultra fast download speedsThis is good to hear. I have a 500 Mbps connection and can hit that mark consistently on Steam downloads, yet PS4 (and Xbox One) never come close, even over ethernet.

beautiful....This greatly reduces the little technical stuff like the storage space not being that high after some big AAA games are installed. Can confirm this. It maxes out my connection, was getting 45MB/s (350mb connection)
cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure to support their respective game and content-streaming services.
MHWilliams I'm assuming you were using a cable in these tests? Can you talk about how well it performs over WiFI?
Thank you, appreciate it!I was indeed using a LAN cable for both systems in these tests. I can redownload them over WiFi today to see what's up.
