It's only day three of 2020...

This was always Trump's fall back from the beginning. Start a war if he ever got into any serious trouble.

He's always gloated about starting a war. And now he's in the verge of getting it.

I saw this coming from a mile away, but people thought I was crazy or cynical. After 2016, nothingg shocks me anymore. I said things would get worse before they got better. And here we are.

You can see the difference though, right? One side is infinitely worse for everyone. I absolutely understand that both sides do terrible things and we should work to fix that. We have no business bombing civilians in any capacity, there is no excuse for that whatsoever.
Obama was responsible for drone strikes making children literally afraid of blue skies, I think both sides are pretty equal in terms of horror and destruction for the middle east.
And keep in mind for the average civilain in the middle east, there is no two sides, there is only one America that is bombing and murdering their families.

Round number 64436, FIGHT!

mk26.jpg

I hate that our troops are being used like this. One fucking idiot is going to get thousands of them killed. It's really just not fare.
Since the dawn of time, there have been people who've thought the same... And yet we will have war every year, somewhere, day in, day out.

Big ups humanity!

I mean it's your right to that perception, and it is silly to expect everyone to be abreast of American domestic issues, but the fact is there is a notable gap between the American parties, even if armchair pundits h up their own ass in this country like to feign their intellectual superiority by cherry picking the crossover, which helps perpetuate a dangerous both sides mentality that gives a permission structure for hawks to thrive and gives the better party less leg room to break from the military consensus.
Obama killed thousands of civilians in drone strikes in the middle east, in this instance there is a clear case to be made that both sides of US politics are bloodthirsty imperialists, imperialism is in the DNA of the United States.

The point here is that for many people it doesn't matter who's in power in the US, as the country itself has and always will maintain its imperialistic zeal.

Fair enough. However, a war with Iran is going to be far more destructive.

You go tell survivors, those who have lost loved ones, and civilians in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Somalia, and Yemen, that Bush drone strikes and Obama drones strikes came from different places in the heart.

Obama ramped up drone usage, so now even civilians in countries out side of Afghanistan and Iraq were being killed through these strikes. For people living in those regions, a change in administration didn't change what was being done to them by the US. Obama was also for the first time ordering drone strikes on US citizens in civilian areas in places like Yemen.

But it's ok though, the people of Yemen aren't as pissed because it was a Democrat ordering the death of their family members instead of a Republican. They're also not as mad as they would have been if it wasn't a Democratic President who started helping Saudi Arabia proceed to turn their country into a parking lot. Can you imagine how infinitely worse it would have been for everyone if Trump was President when that conflict started? The Yemeni people dodged a bullet in that the Democrat Obama was at the helm then 🙄

Here's a New York Times reporter spreading fake news of an Iranian missile attack against an American military base. NYT's beating those war drums.

No retraction for over half an hour and the original tweet's still there.

This is what a propaganda campaign looks like.

When you say "fuck America" it is relevant. You are blaming the entire country for the actions of one, hated, man.

But even tyrants aren't able to exercise power if the people they rule truelly oppose them. In Trump's case, where are the millions protesters surrounding the White House? Where is the opposition to Fox News's lies? The acts of civil disobedience?

You, the American people as a whole, are not doing enough to claim Trump is doing it without your tacit permission. Trump should have been ousted in the first few months, legal process be damned, but you have let apathy get to you. You have decided that your daily lives, your jobs or whatever, were more important that ousting Trump. And so everything he does is also on you.

The leading German news Tagesschau said 3000 troops. The region is one day away from being fucked. A leading picture from Iran on the Tagesschau site:

This isn't really a time to split hairs. It's like when people say "Fuck China" when horrible human rights violations come out. It's not posters saying, "fuck every citizen!" It's clearly implied that the statement is followed by "government".

Same thing here.

There was a poster in this thread posting the same thing. Do not repost information from unverified sources during active shootings or military engagements people.

America are the worst war mongers. They really should shut up about other nations not spending enough on their military when they seed conflict all over the world.

Hey, hope all the fine members here who would rather stay home than vote for Biden are taking notes- This is what a GOP presidency gets you.

Pretty sure a Biden administration wouldn't start and escalate a conflict for no reason, like Trump has seemingly done.

Meh. Plenty of differences already. We don't even know who will win Democratic primary. There's foreign policy differences among said candidates. If you don't consistently vote for lesser evil or always magically pic the winning second worst candidate then you're just being a hypocrite.

Everyone that can should vote. Yes.

This grandstanding is worthless.

We reap what we sow. Trump is a shit stain on humanity and the fact that he has been enabled all this time by the ilk that adore him and also those in the media that constantly try to create some semblance of false equivalence within his actions, I have nothing but deep resignation and hopelessness in the future of this country. We have done so much harm to the world and now we are plunging into yet another senseless conflict.

We're talking about a government that allows drug companies to both price gouge its citizens AND gets then addicted to narcotics. Our government is a force for evil, both at home and abroad.

Not to sound like a conspiracy nut but the top comments on the politics reddit may be on to something, as their results check out:

A weird amount of top people resigned over the last month and the NYT article from the day before the strike is truly uncanny now.
Someone may have tried to want us by the paywall shot him down. We´ll know soon enough but stuff like this doesn´t just happen because Trump woke up cranky one day.

It fucking sucks to check the news to find out if an international conflict has started or not.

Pretty much this, humanity's actions are fucked in a number of ways, but Americans always seem determined to make the rest of us look much better.
