There are no US national security interests.

This realist language is just so garbage.

The US faces zero threats in the entire world.

Worried Biden wouldn't raise a finger if Bolsonaro succeeds in his military coup.

"Raising a finger" is politically toxic and would swiftly lead to a 2010/2018 style midterm for whichever party was dumb enough to think even 40% of Americans would be okay with a foreign deployment into a hostile area.

The World Police era is over now that Biden has Dems out of it and all the Bush neocons (who only ever cared about foreign policy) have been kicked out of the party.

I'll repost my mom's text from last week:

She voted GOP in every election possible until 2018 (for Mike Espy) and then Biden in 2020. Even her being pro-Bush and sad about the attack that killed 13 US military members, she's still on the side of "this shit isn't worth it, we should look domestically."

Nothing more American than threatening private businesses to do your bidding while citing fake law.

Don't the telecoms have to comply with a subpoena due to federal law?

What do you think gets the bigger political backlash.

1. Drone striking Bolsonaro if he declares a military dictatorship after purging the military of non-conservative elements.
2. 15 million people trying to flee Brazil to enter the US after Bolsonaro declares a military dictatorship.

Well, setting aside that I think the first one would help create the second one, the first one.

The only possible way boots get deployed into a hostile area and don't fuck up your party for two decades is if a Kim attacks South Korea and kills some Americans

We are right back to where we were under Obama. A president who rarely makes mistakes so the nutjob right is forced to photoshop fake stuff.

I don't know if they were fake photos. As the update said, there were dogs there, and they were from the animal shelter not the US military. What happened to them?

Taliban escorted clusters of Americans to safety several times a day during evacuation

How many Republican brains are gonna explode over this? I think we should take steps to recognize Taliban as the legitimate government of Afghanistan given their overtures. Of course more needs to happen than just promises on human rights, but we must open channels.

Taliban members escorted Americans to gates at Kabul airport in secret arrangement with US

The US military negotiated a secret arrangement with the Taliban that resulted in members of the militant group escorting clusters of Americans to the gates of the Kabul airport as they sought to escape Afghanistan, two defense officials told CNN.
I think opening channels should happen, yeah. You get more flies with honey and all that - showing that good deeds get good attention is a required part of the negotiating process.

All this obstruction of justice and will it be called out? Who are the bullshitters here? The ones calling out shutting down the telecom industry or the ones who say obstruction will be met with consequences? Until there's real action against all this rhetoric and threats, I can't be concerned.

but yeah, shutting down a telecom doesn't hurt anyone making the decisions there. They are financially set. Just hurts the people trying to make a living.

Manhattan DA Charges 15 People with Selling and Buying Fake COVID-19 Vaccination Cards, Including Hospital and Nursing Home Employees

Prosecutors in New York City filed criminal charges against fifteen people on Tuesday morning in connection with a fake COVID-19 vaccination card conspiracy.

According to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, Jasmine Clifford, 31, stands accused of selling some 250 forced COVID-19 vaccination cards over Instagram. She is also alleged to have worked with Nadayza Barkley, 27, to fraudulently enter the names and personal information of at least ten people into the New York State Immunization Information System database.
Clifford, a New Jersey resident, is alleged to be a self-described entrepreneur with several online businesses who advertised "forged Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 vaccination cards through her Instagram account, @AntiVaxMomma," according to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office.
In a typical transaction, authorities claim, Clifford charged $200 for a falsified COVID-19 vaccination card and accepted payment through online payment processors CashApp or Zelle.

For an additional $250 fee, Long Island, N.Y. resident Barkley would enter purchasers' falsified information into the NYSIIS database by dint of credentials from working at a medical clinic in Patchogue, N.Y.

Manhattan DA Charges 15 People with Selling and Buying Fake COVID-19 Vaccination Cards, Including Hospital and Nursing Home Employees

“We will continue to safeguard public health in New York with proactive investigations like these, but the stakes are too high to tackle fake vaccination cards with whack-a-mole prosecutions,” Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance said.

100% she communicated with an insurrectionist that day. She looks to be serious, and clowns are never serious. Probably someone calling her to remind them where AOC's room is, as she once harassed AOC there before getting elected.

While we don't know if that's factual, it's certainly likely. At least one of her close associates, Anthony Aguero, was indeed a part of the attack on the Capitol.

And though I doubt she was sending people coordinates or directions given how scared she reportedly was, whatever she sent would likely contradict her public statements.

This is literally a shitpost unless you can name procedurally exactly what could be done, right now, with the number of seats we have (no supermajority, Sinema and Manchin being bad-faith DINOs that won't fully caucus, etc).

Do it.

Do it now.

If you can't do it, you're acting in bad faith yourself.

Bonus:

And yes, I'm aware the 2018 House elections and 2020 Presidential and Senate elections happened, but the GOP is aware too, and they're taking as many measures as they can to try and make sure they don't happen again. Question is, who's going to win out: the people trying to organize and encourage voting within a system on the verge of collapse, or the people trying to destroy that same system with a head start on doing so?

Pretty awful for Texas, between the abortion ban taking effect and the state legislature passing the GOP's election laws last night.

We could do something right now which is end the filibuster and expand the court and all we have to do is secretly kidnap all of the loved ones of Sinema and Manchin and threaten to kill them and how the fuck have Joe Biden and "centrist Democrats" not done this?

How about our Attorney General say something about what he just said at least? Sick of Republicans be allowed to do whatever they want.

sorry but everyday i hear more and more supreme court fuckery really makes me hate RBG more. Didn't want to retire in 2014 when we had a senate majority. Now look where we are. I know she's not solely to blame for the stacked conservative court but god damn she helped contribute to it. Breyer needs to be replaced yesterday.

I used to actually like his reporting but he's been such a disingenuous shit over Afghanistan.
If Sean Hannity is promoting something you've said then you know you've said something really fucking dumb.

We need a charity to get people out of the south and then let the fuckers left make their own nation to ruin like they always wanted.

Maybe it's a cruel lesson like this that will teach people to pay more attention to the scope outside of the candidate. Maybe not.
