There was an article a few weeks back that mentioned how Meadows didn't realize how dysfunctional things would be when he walked into the job. Like, what the fuck? How do you not know that by year 4? I know that!
It might be because each consecutive holder of that position has been stupider than the last

What happened to Guiliani? Seems like the writers for this season forgot about him. I wonder if NY state has any investigations open on him?
Because of COVID-19 the supply of the special brand of silly putty that is used to mold his face and facial expressions has been interrupted. So obviously he can't do television appearances without it.

The NRA? You mean the run-down Russian money laundromat? Is someone finally trying to apply the law to them?

Yeah its still bad news for Trump they where also being investigated for scam insurance. They've pretty much been neutered and don't have money to spend on republicans right now because they are being looked at under a microscope. Biden announcing a ban on assault weapons today makes so much sense now.

If Trump loses in November (I refuse to view it as fact until the final numbers come in because I feel there are still too many varables that hit us by surprise)..but IF he loses I hope all media outlets that report on him after Biden is president refer to trump not by name but instead as:

"Former two-time presidential runner-up" since it will be the 2nd time his his number of votes came in 2nd.

It's also worth remembering that Meadows' main activity in congress wasn't introducing legislation or pushing colleagues to support someone else's. As informal head of the Freedom Caucus, he mainly spent his time bullying John Boehner, initiating shutdowns, kicking up shit and basically being a human wrecking ball. Dude doesn't know how to be constructive. Boehner considered Meadows an idiot. Meadows was chosen as chief of staff because he was "loyal" and likely to just let the toddler run the adult daycare center without the kind of pushback that usually triggers Trump's fire-through-twitter reflexes. And when you're looking for folks who'll never think: "Maybe I should think of the country first", you can't go wrong with house members who were totally fine letting the country default on its debts and all the mayhem it would cause.

the vast majority of Biden's twitter posts talk about the state of the economy and covid, but he cuts one ad to show off his car (promote EVs, and not seem like a doodling fool) and ppl complain about him showing off the car. some bs there.

Didn't Oliver North quit the NRA because folks were using it as a personal piggy bank?

Wasn't her opponent also black?

What is this take?

"Also black" isn't the same as progressive, don't be reductive. But if Bernie wanted it to be known that racial justice was as important to him as other priorities, he had plenty of opportunity over the past 5 years. The "no one can be equal until we're all socialists" or "racism is just a symptom of classism" rhetoric that came from his subordinates, he could've cut off at any time.

I thought HE was using it as a personal piggy bank.
Cause i got time, damn it was deeper than that
National Rifle Association President Oliver North has been ousted after an alleged extortion scheme within the group's highest-ranking officials came to light on Friday. In a statement, North told the organization he was "informed" he would not be nominated for reelection. North's term ends Monday.

The NRA's chief executive, Wayne LaPierre, wrote a letter to the board Thursday accusing North of plotting to remove him from the group by threatening to release to the board "damaging" information about LaPierre. He claimed North, a former Marine Corps lieutenant colonel perhaps best known for his role in the Iran-contra affair, was pressuring him to resign over alleged financial transgressions.
"Delivered by a member of our Board on behalf of his employer, the exhortation was simple: resign or there will be destructive allegations made against me and the NRA," LaPierre wrote in the letter, which was published Friday by the Wall Street Journal.
Looks like they were eating each other trying to control the money

U.S. parents approve / disapprove of Trump administration handling of school reopening: - Approve: 36% - Disapprove: 63% WaPo / Ipsos poll

Most American parents think it's unsafe to send their children back to school given the risks of the novel coronavirus, and more than 80 percent favor holding school at least partly online, according to a Washington Post-Schar School survey conducted by Ipsos. But parents also express serious concerns with online schooling and many are drawn to systems that mix the two.

Given three options for the fall, a plurality of parents — 44 percent — want their schools to offer a mix of online and in-person classes, an idea that has been considered by many school districts and adopted by some. In a close second place is all-virtual education, favored by 39 percent of parents.

Fully in-person school, the approach pushed by President Trump and his allies in Congress, comes in a distant third, with 16 percent favoring it for their children. A separate question finds that two-thirds of parents oppose requiring all public schools to open for in-person classes five days a week, with one-third supporting it.

The pettiest thing I'm hoping for is his popular vote total stays under what Hillary got in 2016.

Trump doesn't deserve to be in the top three vote-getters, which currently includes himself, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama (whose 2008 and 2012 totals both exceed what Clinton got in 2016).

Bizarrely, #1 is probably going to be Joe Biden in a few months.

Only 16% of Americans want full, in-person school?

We may see Trump's numbers drop below the traditional floor. Kids are going to get sick.

They already are too! Back near my hometown in Mississippi, there's already been a huge outbreak. Tater Tot delayed school for several districts and will probably have to do it for all of them eventually.

I'm absolutely baffled, if such a large majority of people are against going back to school why are republicans pushing for it so much? Is someone paying/lobbying them???

Kids getting sick is almost moot compared to the plan just won't work, period. The moment somebody in a class gets it, all of their teachers are going to have to self-quarantine. There aren't going to be enough substitute teachers, because nobody is going to wander in to a bit of disease for $80 a day, and the fallback plan of "retired teachers" is going to be met with a tremendous "fuck you". The entire thing is going to shamble on for a few weeks an then just totally collapse under basic logistics.

I downloaded TikTok after I deleted Facebook to see what I was missing. I now understand why Trump wants to ban it. The amount of awesome videos from people all across the US I've seen in just a day of scrolling expressing their disdain for him is incredible.

Donald on Geraldo's radio show:

Daniel Dale @ddale8

"I thought it was a good interview," Trump says of @jonathanvswan's interview. "A lot of people liked that interview." He says some people think it was unfair but Swan is a nice guy and he thought it was fair enough. (He does add that some of Swan's numbers were "phony." No.)

Daniel Dale @ddale8

Trump brushing off criticism of idea of using the Whie House for the RNC: "Geraldo, any place I use, they will find trouble with it. I could use my hotel right down the street...'He used his hotel.'...I could use some other building, they'll say, 'He used some other building.'"

Daniel Dale @ddale8

Geraldo says he has Asian friends who don't like Trump's use of phrases like "China virus." Trump: "I do too. We have great Asian support. And they understand exactly what it is that we're doing and saying."

Thats a nice map I just hope it proves accurate

334 to 125 would be an acceptable rout and rejection of Trumpism. That said I would love to see the landslide become even larger

Im still not accepting this as reality till November comes and goes
