So this is pretty awesome. Lol. They should make an ad about the topic (helping American manufacturing with green tech) with Biden just driving down the highway.

Aldo, there's no way Trump actually knows how to drive. Or it's been decades since he driven something that isn't a golf cart.

I feel like they'd be smart to *really* lean in on stuff like this, especially in the rust belt states.

People are out of their mind if they think Tucker Carlson is getting the nomination. There is almost no chance they go back to another inexperienced television personality as a candidate.

Haley and Crenshaw are the ones to watch there.
Thing about Crenshaw is he doesn't have a personality. His entire persona is "I have an eyepatch and am a veteran". Great for twitter pictures and canned tweets, not so great for national political campaigns.

By a 5–4 vote, the Supreme Court just lifted an order that had required the Orange County Jail to implement safety measures to curb its COVID-19 outbreak. All four liberals dissent. Read it: https://supremecourt.gov/opinions/19pdf/20a19_k537.pdf
From Sotomayor's dissent:
The District Court found that, despite knowing the severe threat posed by COVID–19 and contrary to its own apparent policies, the Jail exposed its inmates to significant risks from a highly contagious and potentially deadly disease. Yet this Court now intervenes, leaving to its own devices a jail that has misrepresented its actions to the District Court and failed to safeguard the health of the inmates in its care.

So you don't disagree with the tweet then? Got it.
At least say something like you agree with them. Give some context to why you posted it. Most tweets posted without comment, are done so because they're news worthy, like the supreme court one above. If you're hoping to engage other people in opinions it'd help if you gave yours.

I care what you have to say a lot more than what someone on twitter I've never heard of has to say.

For the record, I believe Harris will be a better VP than Warren (who I'm also a big fan of). I don't agree that 'virtually no one' thinks that.

I firmly believe that virtually no one on twitter thinks Harris will be better at the VP job than Warren, which says that tweet means nothing

I can think of a group of voters that have *other concerns than these* that I trust Kamala Harris to fight harder for than I think Biden or Warren will.

But hey, if my main concerns were 'can I see my parents?' and 'will people still have a job?', maybe I'd think Warren was better too.

Biden is so much more relatable than Trump. He can come across as genuine while Trump...is Trump.

I think Harris would be a better VP than Warren mostly because VP is mostly just used as an extension of the president and not a policy provider in its own regard. Not that I think it will happen but if you wanted Warren in the position where she could make the most change, you would want her as the Sec of Treasury.

What the fuck does being better at doing the VP job even mean? Will Warren break ties in the senate with more panache? Wait for Biden to die more patiently? Are people really worried that Harris is going to give the French foreign minister a wedgie at an international event or something?

In this context, I presume it's solely about policy. Because that's an area where I think most people *do* agree that Warren is clearly better than Harris.

But that isn't close to the entirety of the job of VP.

It's almost like many on left twitter who have no idea what the DNC does, don't understand the VP job either

I don't know, I can't think of any reason why I'd trust Harris more than Warren to preside over an impeachment hearing.

Next you'll tell me not many people know that the VP does that in the event that the person being impeached isn't the President.

I would rank VP in terms of actual power behind the big 4 cabinet members.
Right, and while some Presidents entrust their VP to draft most of their policy (which, again, Warren would be brilliant at) this is entirely discretionary. The President can entrust anyone to draft policies. Warren can still do that even if she isn't the VP.

The VP is a very malleable position, and the responsibilities will in large part be decided upon by the President. Depending on what Biden is looking to his VP to do, will inform who is the better candidate, and we're lying if was say we know what that is right now.

It's not fantasy draft, it's electoral politics. Not everything is policy.

Add to that losing Warren's Senate seat, which would have a much larger effect on the policy that can be implemented that the VP could influence.

Drives me crazy that the people who called Warren basically a Republican because she was one as an adult before she came around are now all-or-nothing about her.

*Those* are the people treating this like a team sport. Not the people who don't want to give up Senate seat for symbolism's sake.

That makes sense. I posted and didn't say anything, because I was pretty much in agreement with his tweet.

Really feel like Warren has been fighting harder than anyone else across a slate of topics to bring attention to them.

Secretary of Treasury could be good, but I'd prefer someone like Warren as VP because they would be a constant voice in Biden's ear. Of course most of the work is still gonna be done in the House and Senate to pass bills so hopefully they don't get lazy after winning or determine they are too scared of what happens in 2022 to pass any positive legislation

Biden seems much more receptive to the shifting Dem and growing leftist platform than people thought he would be, anyway. We don't need Warren in the VP if that is what they think her role would have been (to move him left). All this hoopla over the pick is getting stale, just get it over with. With the choices we know about it really won't matter much who ends up being the one.

But Will Stancil shared an article telling me that young people are unconvinced about Biden!

Okay okay... I'll let this Will Stancil business go now. I've got to go cook dinner.

Breaking: NY prosecutors have subpoenaed @DeutscheBank for its records related to @realDonaldTrump and his businesses. Deutsche Bank *has complied*, providing extensive documents and other materials. w @benprotess @WRashbaum @BenWeiserNYT @kirstendanis

This is the first time that Trump's long, tortured history with Deutsche Bank has been the subject of a *criminal investigation*.

And unlike Congress's [so far] unsuccessful subpoenas of Deutsche last year, this time the authorities have gotten their hands on the DB materials.

The @ManhattanDA appears to be investigating potential crimes involving bank fraud. Michael Cohen testified that Trump routinely inflated his asset values as he sought financing. Deutsche execs viewed Trump's valuations as wildly optimistic and sometimes reduced them by 70%.

I think the big news that will come from this the Trump empire is probably leveraged to the helt and one creditor demand away from tumbling down.

If anything makes me optimistic about the +Biden polls, it's that Trump's enablers and co-conspirators aren't feeling invincible and are more likely to roll over on him to save their own skins. The only Trump Train I want to see is the one that rolls over him after he's thrown onto the tracks.

Anyone who switches from Biden to Trump based on the VP were always going to switch and would have found another reason if they had to.
