While I find this completely believable, do you have a cite showing that accepting/receiving the pardon is the actual specific legal standard? Because the way I saw it presented, it was more ambiguous and could have been based on a standard having to do with sentencing (or even something else).Grant was only able to do that because the men had not actually accepted/received the pardons yet.
Yep. If anything saves Trump, it is the blatant attack on the post office.
1) Delay all mail in ballots so on election night it looks like he wins.
2) Mail in ballots get counted and show Biden wins.
3) Trump claims fraud, meaning state legislatures have to verify the vote counts.
What states have Republican-run state governments? Michigan. Ohio. Wisconsin. Florida.
Ballgame. Stolen election.
What do you mean?Oh, if Miami Dade mayor is running this might be a tough hold unless Biden carries Florida by the 5-6 point margin
Nearly every member of the admin has been on record to have voted by mail before. They know exactly how the process works, they're just trying to distort reality as usual to cover up for the crimes they're planning to commit. What a lying sack of shit
Clearly this shit head has never even seen an absentee ballot or participated in the process. You submit and have your credentials check BEFORE you recieve the ballot
I can't take these people anymore
Damn is there no resentment for Trump and his build the wall rhetoric? Have things moved more to the right since 2016?I live in Miami and everyone is going to put this on Cubans but it's Hispanics in the area in general who are very anti-Socialism and therefore extremely anti-Dem since they associate the Democratic Party with Socialist ideals. It's going to take at least another generation to overcome the anti-Dem bias here as there's been an influx of young South Americans who are taking the place of the older Cubans as the R voting block.
I honestly didn't want to get into this but unfortunately this group also tends to be heavily in the "fuck you, I got mine" demo that largely identifies as being white more than being Hispanic. Their views on Mexicans and Black people are more shocking than Trump's based on some of the experiences I've had since moving here.Damn is there no resentment for Trump and his build the wall rhetoric? In your experience have things moved further right on the ground or is their genuine enthusiasm for moving Trump out?I honestly didn't want to get into this but unfortunately this group also tends to be heavily in the "fuck you, I got mine" demo that largely identifies as being white more than being Hispanic. It's hard to get a read since the COVID lockdowns means I've been spending a lot less time outside to hear what folks are saying but my expectation is that Trump is going to do better here than any other major metro area in the country. Usually Texas saves us from some of that embarrassment but probably not this year.In your experience have things moved further right on the ground or is their genuine enthusiasm for moving Trump out?
I haven't seen a regional breakdown but I would bet that Biden is getting huge gains in the retiree areas and Central Florida which has seen a large migration of former New Yorkers and Puerto Ricans.I wonder where the support in Florida for Biden is coming from given the polling, if Miami is like that.
This is one of those insultingly stupid talking points he refuses to let go of.
Yes! How could I forget the vets. There is nothing more invigorating for a journalist than writing the 'more in sadness than anger' stories of vets being abused and manhandled by faceless fed goons. The story practically writes itself

That Navy vet standing there and taking his beating and mace like a badass was one hell of a statement.
He seems popular enough among people down here. I've heard a few times people saying "he's doing this, and he's a republican!"Oh, if Miami Dade mayor is running this might be a tough hold unless Biden carries Florida by the 5-6 point margin
idk people always blame hispanics for dems losing in Florida. But Hillary did really well w/ hispanics in Florida and dems still generally win the hispanic vote in the state. Like we do have hispanics from countries other than Cuba and Venezuela down here.
It's not that Democrats do horribly here it's that generally these large metro areas carry states for Democrats. Hillary won this region in 2016 by capturing ~60% of the vote which isn't bad unless you compare it to a city like NYC where she captured ~90%.idk people always blame hispanics for dems losing in Florida. But Hillary did really well w/ hispanics in Florida and dems still generally win the hispanic vote

NEW on COVID talks Mnucin and Meadows offered a one-week extension of UI benefits of $600/week in closed-door talks last night - an offer Pelosi and Schumer firmly rejected, 2 sources familiar say.

Yes, it goes back to United States v. Wilson (1833), where the Supreme Court said that acceptance is the final part of the pardon process — in that case, the court ruled that the recipient of a pardon has the opportunity to reject it. So since Grant rescinded the pardons before they were presented, there was no opportunity to accept/reject and the pardons were not final. While I find this completely believable, do you have a cite showing that accepting/receiving the pardon is the actual specific legal standard? Because the way I saw it presented, it was more ambiguous and could have been based on a standard having to do with sentencing (or even something else).
It means it's already rigged, they're probably going to identify and discard all mail-in ballots period and fuck around with polling places enough to make sure they win all the key states. To be honest, Miller starting to spout off about mail in voting fraud gives me pause. He's far too cocky and arrogant. Makes me think he's in on talks about whether Trump's postmaster appointment actually can act to seize ballots in battleground states.
