There's a small escape hatch thru Arkansas.

The estimate is 75% of Americans are under stay-home orders, which includes those enforced at the city level (instead of statewide). But that remaining 25% of the population is a large amount of states and land area.
You're right, I'm not paying close enough attention.

Not appreciative enough!

Wait a minute...computer: show me all the states with a Republican trifecta!

Looks like 25% are bucking the trend.

Missouri is doing relatively good.

Cases in Missouri: 1031

Total Deaths: 13

Patients tested in Missouri (by all labs): approximately 14,107
-

They attributed the death number to having adequate ventilators and medical supplies. Although most of these cases are in STL area and Springfield. STL makes sense since it shares a border with IL.

My wife's lab has really ramped up the testing , although I'd wish they would concentrate on healthcare workers a bit more...

AOC's "evolution" is annoying but I can't blame her, since Bernie's theory didn't work. She's just less combative than him in general, I think and if she has eyes on the presidency one day then she knows his method didn't pan out.

Moderation, conciliation, etc. are not virtues, but they can be used strategically. Unfortunately, until the Boomers are gone and the Democratic Party voter base stops primarily considering itself moderate, we're stuck pushing the Overton window from the margins.

She'll drop little hints like when she tweeted a Kropotkin quote to try to keep the left happy enough, anyway, and I continue to hope for the day when we can look back and declare people like Bernie and AOC as too liberal.

The game the GOP plays is to veil its extremism in coded language to great effect. The Left needs to learn this as well, particularly since their end-goal issues are actually popular and all they need to dog-whistle is the fact that they're socialist.

Rural-state governors tell Trump they need tests and medical supplies, too

The epicenter of the outbreak in the U.S. is in New York and other urban areas, and they're getting the bulk of the equipment.
Several rural-state governors alerted President Trump on Monday that they are struggling to obtain urgently needed medical supplies and testing equipment, warning that despite the worsening coronavirus situation in New York and other urban areas, more sparsely populated parts of the country need help, too.
In response to requests for more testing kits, Mr. Trump said, "I haven't heard about testing in weeks," according to an audio recording of the call between the president and governors obtained by CBS News.
During the call, which lasted a little over an hour, Democratic and Republican governors detailed how they are struggling to obtain the protective equipment doctors and nurses will need to treat the sick and the test kits needed to determine whether sick residents are suffering from COVID-19.

Ooh, there's a small table next to the podium for the press conference.
...Dammit, CNN says it looks like a test kit. I was thinking he was going to sign some dramatic (and potentially legit helpful) executive order.

I'm thinking that jovially referring to COVID-19 as "boomer remover" last month might have benefitted from some of that coding.

I'm excited for this thing, but i'm not counting tests before they're delivered (and proven to work)

A disproportionate amount of deaths are going to come from red rural counties. Bad governance in the short- and long-term is going to kill a whole lot of people in those areas.

The frustrating thing about Bernie is that he IS a team player in Congress and has no problem working with the so-called Establishment, but he still feels obligated to shit on it publicly.

Yeah, all this tells me is that a lot of GOP reps and Trump family members have invested in Abbott Labs.

I'll believe the tests are being made when they're being administered by frontline HC workers, and not before.

Yes, the person the nation needs to hear from the most during a public health crisis is the MyPillow guy.

Right? That's why the infamous tweet was so annoying. Bernie CAN and HAS worked with the democratic establishment. He has voted to get less than perfect things through because they were better than nothing.

But rhetorically, the campaign, and Bernie himself, would continue to pretend otherwise. To pretend the guy who has been a politician for longer than most politicians isn't a politician.

So. Frustrating.

i understand why the briefing are still televised, but at least CNN had the balls to cut away when an advertisement went to the podium.

What they should really do is air the first 5 minutes, then do a recap.

Trump says "probably" some more ventilators will go to Michigan, and there'll be more to New York; "even Alabama flared up all of a sudden," he says, so they'll get some.

This is not like Oprah

"A month ago nobody ever heard of this," Trump says. It wasn't clear this time if he meant specifically the deployment of hospital ships for this crisis, or, as usual, the crisis in general. The latter remains false.

Now that's a lie

Trump on Louisiana's coronavirus situation: "It was just staying at nothing, and then all of a sudden I look one day and I see a lot, and a lot, and a lot, and then it explodes."

"It's pretty unlikely, I would think at this time," says Pres Trump, asked if he would impose a national stay-at-home order. He says he's leaving it up to the Governors to decide in each state. Says 70-day order in Virginia doesnt bother him. "People should be staying at home."

Speaking of disgusting things this administration has done, I hope someone plans on investigating how the federal government has been intentionally sabotaging blue states from getting the medical supplies they need. The shit they've been pulling with Michigan is going to get a lot of people killed.

Trump says he was told it is not possible that, without something shady "going on," a New York hospital can go from needing 10,000 masks to 300,000 masks.
Trump continues to not provide evidence for his innuendo-heavy claims that New York is only requesting so many masks because of some major mask-theft-or-something operation. He calls for a "wonderful investigative reporter" to figure out what's going on.
