He's just going for Article 1 but that ruins Trump's partisan argument at least.

Arkansas, USA
Everyone already knows Bernie is a socialist, and those swing states are already full of people that arent gonna vote for him because they hate the boogeyman socialism. Between Trump scaring everyone with the stock market crashing in a Bernie win (that is up 1k points in just the last 3 days) and the red scare, Trump's chances with Bernie are very very high.

It's going to be a self-fulfilling prophecy with the stock market. If Bernie wins I will be shocked if the stock market doesn't take a massive plunge.

I can't believe Mitt fucking Romney is the only Republican to convict. Well, at least this destroys Trump's narrative of a partisan vote.

Goddman, he's about to become Moderate Darling #1. The media will salivate over him and make him everyone's Good Republican. Ugh.

And LOL at Sue. She already announced her decision very publicly. If she changes, she'll be primaried so fast.

Susan Collins is a LOSer. A man from blood red UTAH convicted. Mainers should feel SHAME that this woman snuck into office for decades

I've been thinking about it and I wonder if there was any paralysis due to the amount of choices there were... or the lack of a clear choice or poll leader among them.
Hopefully, although I feel like that in its own way is more grounds for getting rid of Iowa's first in the nation status. Every campaign cycle we hear about how Iowa deserves this position because the people take it very seriously, it's a real honor and responsibility to set the pace for the rest of the country...but if you're not going to vote because you don't know who to vote for, then exactly what obligation are they fulfilling here?

It feels like communists have kind of given up on the "don't be openly homophobic to people you don't like"

How often do you think "Uncle Tom" and various other slurs are used in communist Discord chats right now.

Homophobia is a hell of a drug.

Not a Pete fan but... this line of attack is disgusting.

Also, a queer candidate faces an entirely new set of questions on how to behave with their spouse in front of crowds.

I think Romney generally thinks Trump is a horrible person but I would not be surprised if he is trying to appeal to the Republican base after the Trump stink and MAGA crazies are gone.

On the plus side, I'd rather have Moderate Darling #1 be a Senator from Utah than a Senator from Maine.

I'm not completely surprised by Romney - I think he genuinely really dislikes Trump and thinks hes a menace (he didn't have to go all in against him in 2016, for example) - but it's still nice to see. For whatever that's worth, I suppose.

I don't know how you don't convict on article 2 but still good
The only sane argument is jury nullification, but that shouldn't apply here. There's an enormous difference between someone going to jail for years, versus someone losing their side job.

I'm still hoping for a Julius Caesar moment in the Senate. Not literally, because Trump won't be there of course, figuratively I mean. I know it's highly unlikely, still holding the dream though!

People sometimes doubt how much the rank and file Mormons hate Trump and his elitist, anti-immigrant rhetoric.

So this is less surprising to me than other folks. Utah would love a Jeb! or Cruz version of petit-Fascism, but the unrepentant sleaze of Trump makes it hard to preach for morals while supporting an amoral slimeball

There was a rather long pause during Romney's speech, a bit where he talks about his faith & God.

I don't believe that was theatrics.

Collins just got fuuuuuuucked. Romney going to convict makes her look like even more of a hypocrite.

Absolutely. The market has artificially decided to prop itself up for as long as it can under Trump and it will absolutely deliberately shit itself under Sanders. (This is not a reason not to elect Sanders.)
